News today

Saw a Retired Dekta pilots ad in paper today wanting help to restore all of their pensions from the "old" Delta that went bankrupt.

They want it negotiated into the new contract with the new merger concerning active pilots.

If I understand bankrupcy, those things are settled when the "new" Delta was formed. The old Delta is GONE.

As to what made it gone, the retired pilots would know more about that than I would, I suppose! Their pensions went broke also, and the government bailed them out to some extent.

Is their no end to the demands?

Detroit's mayor was canned today for lying. Not fcr what he did.
If I were the Governor of Alaska, I would be afraid about that outcome!!!
Her saying she didn't interfere into geting her sister's husband fired for a custodial problem they had was incorrect, she did.

After listening to the republican base praise the Alaskan Governor, I do believe that if McCain had selected one of the blue-haired ladies on religious television, they would have also praised them as an awesome pick!

Does anyone know how much of these employees pensions is money that they contributed which was their own and how much was the corporations?

I don't know where pensioners stand on the bankrupcy list as first to get paid with what there is left, but it could make a difference as to whether it was their money or the bankrupt company's money.

It is my understanding that they are getting a pension from a socialistic fund to which all airline contribute, but I don't know the amounts.

Don't these pilots also get Social Security retirement payments and Medicare for health?

I didn't mean to insult the blue-haired ladies on religious Tv with the above comment!

They make a lot more money at what they do than a VP ever gets, exept Cheney and Halliburton!
