By: Letters to the ...
Is Ms. Faye Norris suffering from severe anxiety? She appears to be unconsciously acting out some form of mental distress over what she reads in the newspapers.
There is a great deal of inner conflict within her two letters. Originally, she was clearly critical of Mr. Brown’s outward discussions on various issues. Ms. Norris, a Mayor Logsdon supporter, clamored for a boycott of The Citizen because they printed Mr. Brown’s letters to the editor. Her unashamed demand for the suppression of our public speech is probably what prompted The Citizen to resurrect the “Free Speech” section in the Wednesday edition.
At present, Ms. Norris is on a witch hunt for the person(s) writing in the “Free Speech” section as she is aggravated and displeased with some of the commentary listed.
Due to her unpleasant disposition and revengeful tone, everyone might benefit by submitting their future comments via the “Free Speech” section in order to avoid Ms. Norris’ wrath.
Ms. Norris’ correspondence is swollen with irony given her unabashed protection of Mayor Logsdon and her brazen persecution of everyone else. The average reader might be led to presume that Ms. Norris is actually a Logsdon.
Ms. Norris’ “kill the whales but save Jack Abramoff” attitude is the modern-day mantra for political action committees and shoplifters alike. Nevertheless, the publication of opinions, regardless of origin, is not a crime, so why must the Logsdonees continue to browbeat anyone eager to propose an opposing view? We can only hope that the Logsdonees’ model for local government is not Abu Ghraib.
Ms. Norris, we fail to appreciate your frontal assaults on everyone who neglects to approve of your solemn opinions. However, contrary to your convictions, we do identify with your right to spew your inscribed venom. Please contemplate extending the same courtesy to the rest of the population.
If Mayor Logsdon is so delicate that you have to personally attack every individual with a comment concerning him, perhaps he should resign at once.
Everyone should be able to make their opinions known and then permit the public to determine whether those opinions have merit. Censorship is boorish and our mayor needs to develop a maturity beyond primary school.
