McCain chooses woman as running mate

McCain’s choice for a woman running mate is historic, but who is he picking? Ok she’s an Alaskan governor, but only has been for 3 months or so. Ok she has been mayor of a city in Alaska, but before that she was a soccer mom and a sports journalist. She in no way is ready to run a country. She’s inexperienced and as running mate to McCain, the fact is that she has a very good chance of becoming commander in chief if McCain is elected. Remember McCain is old, and in fact he’s 72 today. He might die in office. Furthermore this isn’t about picking the best qualified candidate; they are making a desperate attempt to gain Hillary supporters. Obama must have scared the McCain campaign and they are taking off the gloves. The truth is many people will support McCain because he has simply chosen a female running mate, but it’s a joke. It’s just a political strategy to win an election at all costs. They are just using her, just as woman from McCain’s generation has used woman in the past. This move should be an insult to feminists everywhere.

McCain's VP pick Sarah Palin believes creationism should be taught as science in high school classrooms.

If you want our kids learning that the Devil planted thousands of dinosaur bones beneath the Earth to tempt the faith of true Christians, then you'll love Sarah Palin.

Where did you get that from? Puzzled

Secondly, I just might be falling in love with Sarah Palin myself. And it goes far beyond those handsome legs in that photo you shared with us. For some reason I get the feeling that if Sarah shoots you in the face you won't live to brag about it.

After a recent trip to Alaska I can understand where Palin gets reinforcement for her creationist views. Experiencing that incredible part of the world I came away even more convinced that Alaska didn't just 'happen'. The more I try, the more difficult it is for me to grasp the concept that all of 'this' just happened.

Sniffles - As hard as I try to imagine, there is no way I can wrap my mind around the theory that you evolved from pond scum which in turn evolved from...... What?

That feeling of "superiority" that she must have over others will serve her well with the conservatives--but not the common folks.

Holding primitive beliefs over others heads, such as no dinosaurs, all from Adam and Eve, and everyone needs an AK-47, will not serve us well!

No religion should be taught in public school---go to private school if you want that!

Yes, we all feel like we are in mortal danger now.

Good grief buddy. I thought everyone had an AK-47. Holler at me if you want me to hook you up with one. Smiling

The "deer in the headlights" expression by all of the pundits on CNN and MSNBC this afternoon was priceless. They had the expression of someone tied on some railroad tracks with a train barelling down on them, full speed.

Ms. Palin is going to make a great VP.

"The "deer in the headlights" expression by all of the pundits on CNN and MSNBC this afternoon was priceless."

I think that expression you saw on everyone's face yesterday was definitely shock. The kind of shock we all had when Bush tapped Harriet Meirs for Supreme Court judge, and look what happened with that decision.

I actually thought it was a joke yesterday, when I found out online about McCain's choice. Many other folks I spoke to felt the same way when they initially heard the news, that it had to be a joke.

Dick Morris said it best - Obama has spent 2 years trying to defeat a woman (hillary) and now he has 2 months to defeat another woman (Sara) and he has to do that with the female vote. Go figure that out. And tell me how that's going to happen. Hope? Change?

I think McCain just won the election today with his VP pick (Sara). That is my prediction. 52-48 McCain/Palin over Obama/Boring. And I have only missed one out of 23 elections (local, state and national) that I have predicted. As Yogi Berra said - "You can look it up"

Obama gets the female vote by having the winning platform. Women aren't idiots (I hope and pray).

obama doesn't really have a platform. What he has is one little catch phrase about change. As we have seen in Crime county change can be very, very, very, very, BAD!

obama voted for the bush/cheny energy plan, McCain didn't.

obama has talked about slashing the federal budget, but at the same time talks about yet more entitlement programs. He definitly thinks it is smart to punish people who are high achievers by redistributing their money they worked hard for. If obamanation wins, I'm going to stop working and sit on my couch all day and collect all the free money he wants to hand out. My motivation to work hard will be gone if I can't keep the money I earn.

First obama talked about raising the taxes on anyone making over $150,000 dollars a year, then he changed that to $250,000 dollars a year. Who knows what he will say next week.

He has no plan to increase energy production here in the U.S.

Please if anyone knows of a concrete plan from obama that he has held onto for more than one week please tell us about it.

The only thing I have heard is he wants lots of change, he thinks partial birth abortions make for good family planning, and he wants to sit down and have tea with any and all terrorists. He wants to make sure they like the U.S.A.

Oh, and he still wants to take away my right to own a firearm and protect myself against criminals.

No, Skyspy. McCain has since stolen the little catch phrase of "change" so that YOU will vote for change with either ticket or not vote at all. Sorry.

As for this comment:

"If obamanation wins, I'm going to stop working and sit on my couch all day and collect all the free money he wants to hand out."

No. You are now sitting on your couch wondering why this republican lead administration is socializing our economic system. Doesn't he know we are trying to make Barack out to be THE socialist?

Oh, and finally: "Oh, and he still wants to take away my right to own a firearm and protect myself against criminals."

You need to read more spyskyguy. Barack voted in SUPPORT of the second amendment in DC. Just cause you say it does not make it true.

That's why women are going to vote for a winning ideology instead of a trumped-up "winning platform". Otherwise they would be idiots.
