Bush at Olympics

I want to know why we taxpayers have to pay for President and Mrs. Bush and one daughter to fly to China to see the Olympics.

The Olympic games have long been an international source of unity among nations. There have even been times where nations under declarations of war attended these games together. Our President is the ultimate ambassador for our nation, and it is only fitting for him to be there, extending greetings to the host nation and the other nations in attendance, along with motivating our country's athletes.

Oh... and I heard his Delta dollars fell during a black-out travel period. Big bummer for us Smiling

Are you saying it's rare for a President or his Family to attend some portion of the Olympics?

Our lame duck president (165 days and a wakeup) became the very first US President to visit a foreign country to attend the Olympics.

It's not like he has anything better to do, Operation Run-out-the-clock is proceeding very nicely in Iraq.

I think that we should have the President to support us in the Olympics from our country.

Don't you think there will be Presidents from other countries there?

Plus we don't have to worry, if Obama gets President he said change would happen that first day when he is President. If he wins I want to see that BIG CHANGE Obama.

Obama has a habit of explaining of how what he plans will be done. LOL So on the first day maybe between now and then Obama will tell us what he will do on that day. Maybe it will be which tax increase to throw at us.
