A professor at a local college has stated that the USA has bought off the Sunni tribes in Iraq with cash, arms, and transportation vehicles. Thus the suicide bombing has decreased against Americans as long as we pay. They still kill Shiites.
These are the same group who worked for Saddam, and they also work with incoming Al Quieda groups---if they get paid.

The "surge" had nothing to do with this temporary relaxation since they would rather fight in Afghanistan for now anyway!

Was this buy-out an idea of General Petraeus or is he just following orders?

Also. the neo-cons in the USA have always wanted a permanent base in the middle east to work in conjunction with Israel. They will get it.
It is nearing completion in several places in Iraq and we will NEVER abandon them. The oil is too important for many years yet.

Now for those of you who think this is untrue and not important, just what do you think the big fight is about in this years national elections?
It is certainly not about patriotism or budgets, or many other minor fears!

Most cons know all this and approve.
