The Obama Energy Plan

Fred Garvin's picture

From speech by Barack Obama, July 30, 2008:

"There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated — simple thing. But we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling — if everybody was just inflating their tires? And getting regular tune-ups? You’d actually save just as much!"

This statement would be rather humorous if it weren't so utterly pathetic and patently untrue.

This is the change that we can expect from the Democratic candidate for the highest office in the land?

I have reviewed his energy plan a long time ago and no, I could not find any references to how tire inflation or simple up-keep will negate the need for oil exploration. I guess it sounds good, but it ain't sound. I do hope he knows that. Smiling

Obama proposes $1,000 rebate checks from oil company profits as part of pitch to Fla. voters

Read about how Barack Obama wants to redistribute wealth by taking profits by force from oil companies and giving it to people who did not work for it. Oil companies will turn right around and raise prices on gasoline to make up the shortfall, a defacto tax on every American who purchases gasoline.
If you own a 401K, it is very likely that you own stock in oil companies. Barack Obama wants to take money directly out of your pocket and give it to someone else.
There is the definition of what he wants to do: It's called SOCIALISM

Tell me Obama is not really serious about this.

OMG he is serious about this.

It didn't work for Nixon in '73 or Carter in '80 and I don't see how its going to work now. On the bright side, he'll probably never get the legislation for it passed. Disappointing though. Where are his economic advisers?

McCain ain't a saint either.

BTW, I see some parallels between this election and the one in 1976.

So he has no plan. No plan means no change.

I have not heard of one concrete solution or game plan to solve the problems our country faces. The only thing obomination talks about is change and higher taxes.

Empty talk about change whips Americans into a freenzy, but in the end it is just empty talk.
