Two of the men are believed to be brothers, police said: Johnny Edison, 30, of Hampton and Kevin Edison, 28, of Taylorsville, Miss. The third suspect also hails from Taylorsville: Leonard Barnes, 29, police said.

Kevin Edison

Johnny Edison is currently being held at the Fayette County Jail, while Kevin Edison and Barnes are jailed at the Covington County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi awaiting extradition, said Capt. Steve Crawshaw of the Fayetteville Police Department.

Johnny Edison is charged with armed robbery (party to a crime), aggravated assault (party to a crime) and kidnapping (party to a crime. Kevin Edison and Barnes are both charged with armed robbery.

More charges may be filed in the future and there’s the possibility of further arrests because police believe one more person may have been involved, but there is no information on that person yet, police said.

The incident occurred as the store was closing May 31 when the store manager told police she was pushed into her office at gunpoint by two black men while she was collecting money from cash registers. She was forced to open the safe and the suspects took the money from both the safe and the cash registers, police said.
The manager was taped to a chair and the two men then ran out of the office.

The arrests were made with the assistance of the United States Marshals Fugitive Squad, the Atlanta Police Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Covington County Sheriff’s Office.

Although most crimes that are commited are by black men under the age of 35, the fact remains that no matter who is commiting the crime our community is no less safe because of the race of the criminal. You are going to have murders, rapes, robberies, ect in the four corners of the Earth. (Even where there aren't any blacks!!!) It is a shame that the world has come to this, but to say "blacks" are the problem is a stupid comment!!!!! If blacks are the problem, then FCPD and all other law enforcement should just ride around & pick up all the black people & put them in jail, will that solve the problem?? No, it won't I don't know how to solve the crime that has assened onto our comminities, but blaming once particulare race certainly is not the solution. We must cooperate with the police as much as possible, watch out to potential dangers, and stop putting out heads in the sand and think Fayette County is the only place that this is happening. For God's sake people pick up an AJC.

Reading is Fundamental. Check it out its a free government program at your local library.

You sound like someone who is very familiar with free government programs.

"she was pushed into her office at gunpoint by two BLACK MEN"

Until young black men change their criminal behavior it sounds like the description of the suspects won't change very much around here. You should be mad at these suspects, for contributing to the negative stereotype people have of young black males.

Until the behavior changes the negative stereotype won't change. Listen to Bill Cosby he has some valuable information for you.

Look at their photos. They are black, just like every other robber we have had around here lately. This is a fact - not bigotry. Ever wonder why some many jail and prison inmates are black?

You are the pathetic one. This is serious crime coming around us now. Just like Dave Simmons said. It is not a laughing matter. I keep my gun with me at all times now. Hope I don't have to use it, but I will.

With statistics I can prove just about anything.

Trust me, there are plenty of white low-life child molesting, gang banger want-a-be's and postal workers to go around to make up the difference.

I want to be color blind and I think I could if people of color didn't see bigotry everywhere. I know there is some that still exists but I think if you ignored it, and the small people that exude it, it would melt away. The constant agitation makes me more aware of color than I ever was and not in a positive way - and not in a way I want to be.

Stop whining.

If YOU see this as a competition, you're betting on the wrong team, partner.

Now, if you can somehow convince black males to stop committing crimes in Fayette County, you may well be able to snigger in time.

Good luck.

uh - Yea, try reading the article again:

Racism is alive and well. Thanks for contributing your share.
