A Fayette man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a girl when she was between the ages of four and seven at a home in south Fayette County, officials said.

Ryan Presley, 18, of Zelkova Drive, Fayetteville, was arrested July 6 for the incident, deputies said. He is charged with two counts of aggravated child molestation, according to arrest warrants filed in the case.

The incidents occurred between January 2003 and January 2006, but did not occur at Presley’s home, according to the warrants.

The warrants charge Presley with putting his penis in the child’s mouth and putting his hand in the girl’s underwear, caressing and fondling her.

At press time it was unclear if Presley and the victim were related or how they knew each other.

The case is being investigated by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Well, next time try not to use such language and another suggestion, try to proof read your post. If you're still allowed to post here in the future..

As for the individual charged in the article, seems like more and more we see a total lack of right & wrong today more than ever. Kids ( older ) attacking younger kids, those who are defenseless should never be released if he is found guilty of the charges. Anlther 4 year old harm, time to call this problem one that requires more education of parents about the signs of abuse.

Shades of another man just sent to jail, he too was convicted of molesting a young child in his past. No such thing as a one time molester, sorry..

This sickens me. If the accusations are true, there's no excuse. Even if the man was actually a teenager, the girl was 4 years old when he started molesting her. A 4 year old child trusts the adults around him. He has no idea that such things shouldn't exist and he grows up to find out that this is abnormal. If the molester isn't caught, this disease will stay with him and ruin his future family's life. His marriage will end up in the hands of marriage counselors, his kids will end up needing psychiatric help and everything will go wrong. I just hope that, in this cases, there's someone who has the courage to speak up and call the authorities.

I happen to know the "man" in this article as well and as far as I can tell, he wasn't a "man" when this allegedly occurred. I know this kid has been through some ---- and yes, I'm sure he needs counseling. Let's don't jump the gun here, he hasn't been convicted. If I knew the "victim" in the case I would have a better idea. Knowing some of the girls in the area he lived in, there are many known to make up lies for attention or revenge - I'm not saying she did, but the possibilities are there - or maybe it did happen, but it also could have been consenting at the time and now she's changed her mind - who knows? And why is this victim just now reporting this - is it because she knew he would now be convicted as an adult if convicted - I'm sorry there's something not right about the whole thing. oh yes and to the editors - you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Are you insane? You think a 4 year to 7 year old child can "consent"???? I agree that this kid should be dealt with as a juvenile, but don't even try to say that a child that age was asking for it, or consented to it, or was provocative, or any other of the countless excuses given for rape and molestation. "Why is the victim just now reporting this?" Maybe because she is finally able to verbalize the horror?

Submitted by FayetteFriend on Sat, 07/19/2008 - 7:03pm.

hsh87 must be insane!! Consenting to this at age four?? Oh, and even better ... she actually, at age 4, made the strategic decision to wait until her attacker was 18 so he would be tried as an adult. Amazing!! I just hope hsh87 is part of his defense team.

If a child molester's penis and testicles are removed he cannot molest anymore.

It seems that several of us have come to the same conclusion - way too much information on this one.

I happen to know the parties in this case. Believe me, this child was not just seeking attention as suggested in an earlier post. This child, along with the entire family, no doubt, will be in counseling for years to come. Who will put their lives back together? Forget the meaningless life of this so-called juvenile. He threw that away when he made the conscious decision to do these hideous, unspeakable things to this innocent child over the course of several years. While I agree there was too much detail printed in this story, the fact remains, he made his bed. Curious to see how many others come forward. Two families are hurting right now. More hurt than you can imagine. Healing needs to begin. For the sake of these families, ease off.

We live in a country where we are innocent until proven guilty. I love our country!! I agree with everyone else. Way too much information. Details were not needed. My biggest questions is: where is his arrest in the cop reports? Why wasn’t it posted then? Is the paper trying to make up for not posting in the cop report from the day he was arrested? Maybe even the day after? Who knows.

Not saying that this young man is guilty, but I did not know that child molestation was to be taken so lightly. People on here have flocked to his defense with out even knowing more details. Was there a confession? Maybe so. Is that the reason the paper took it upon themselves to post so many details of the allegations. The victim, were the details she gave to the investigator so vivid that they knew she could not make up this story for attention? It reads that the victim was between the ages of four and seven at the time and that there were multiple incidents? Is it typical for a child to make up several stories so graphic that trained authorities will believe her?

IF this young man is guilty, who is going to put the victim’s life back in order? Will she ever forget? How about the innocence ripped from her? Is there only one victim? Did the story get posted in order to attempt to find more victims? Maybe there are way more details to this story that we haven’t read already. Just maybe there is a reason this story got posted in the manor it did. But the one thing that sickens me the MOST, is how defensive we get for the accused child molester (I’m not saying he’s guilty). If there are two accounts of AGGRAVATED child molestation, what does that mean? Were the details that picturesque?

We do have a wonderful thing called a brain. It is a gift that God gave us in the beginning. He also gave us common sense. This young man will go to trial and the victim will have to face her attacker again probably. Only there will he be proven innocent or guilty. Pray for both parties in this case.

In Georgia, it is Aggravated if it involves sodomy (oral or anal sex), or it involves penetration with a foreign object. So the acts described in the article constitute aggravated molestation.

The kid was 13 for crying out loud. He needs help, not a lynch mob.

I thought in America everyone was innocent until PROVEN guilty. Has any proof ACTUALLY been presented that he is guilty of these charges? If it happened between 2003-2006, then this young man was a minor when it happened. Fayette County Juvenile Court System should have been involved.

There was way too much information published. You don't need to publish someone's name and address until after they have been convicted, especially now. We have too much violence in the world. How would like it if a young child picked up the newspaper and began reading it and ran across an article like this one? Reporters need to think twice before giving TOO many explicit and finite details.

THIS p.o.s. is the kind of scum I'm concerned about. I'd much rather have Jeremy Scott living next door to me.

And, yes, that was way, way too much information. The public didn't need to know the grisly details. All that overly informative reporting accomplishes is instilling in people like me - who are generally quiet, easy-going types - the desire to start rummaging around in the back of the shed for a pitchfork and a torch.

I first would like to say that I am so proud of the way people have come together on this matter. You guys have already convicted this young man of something that a child is accusing him of and we all know that children don't ever make mistakes or make up lies to receive attention. Also you all have turned a very unfortunate sitiation where people lives are ruined and families are turned up-side-down into a racial thing. What if this man didn't do this? How will this affect the rest of his life? The editor of this paper should get his head out of his rear and start using that thing GOD gave him called a brian! Editor, how will you fill when you have blood on your hands for giving out the address to where this man lives. Scum is the word I would use for people like you and your staff that wait around at the police station on "BREAKING NEWS" to come in. I could go on for days but I would bet your inner conscience is telling you that you really made a bad decision.

Does everyone have a brian or is it just editors, and what do you do with a brian. Were you aware when GOD gave you your brian or did you just discover it one day?

That predatory internet use (even by youth ministers), murder of spouses and children, child abuse and neglect, and the killing of grandparents does not tend to ilicit desires of some to flee, arm themselves, or comment on the race of the perps. I guess it doesn't stack up with stealing money at gun point. I tend to think crime is crime and must be dealt with logically, but logic, at times, finds no welcome here in the blogs.

I don't guess we will hear anything about this from the paranoid folks. Although I can't wait for a few single-issue posters to immediately blame Scott Ballard for the whole thing.
Perhaps it is because they can't flee from molesters, they tend to blend in so well.

There is no defense needed to debate 'ignorance'. No one wants to live among thieves, gangsters, and/or ignorant, racist people. I happened to be alive when 'we' feared 'whites' coming into our neighborhoods. History and experience taught us that not all whites were evil, ignorant, or racist. You seem to have difficulty with coming to that reality regarding blacks. So run PTC - there's a nice middle class, hard working black family qualified to buy your house!

Submitted by MYTMITE on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 9:04am.

Living in Peachtree City now. These are not the people we fear. Nice hard working black people did not ruin Clayton County. I abhor the white trash neighbor as well. I grew up in an integrated neighborhood (many years ago) and we had no trouble. What we do not want are gangs (of any ethnic background), robbers, thieves, low class non-achievers (of any color or background). Just read the blog from Jeremy's friend, look at his language, his admission he was in possession, of what we don't know, but evidently something he didn't want the police to find. There is a possibility that both sides were in posession-we don't know-but this young man admitted it. His language and attitude is what turns us off completely and makes us feel we definitely would not want him for a neighbor. He does not represent all black people but he is the one who blogged. Anger aside, and he feels he has a right to be angry, there was no need for his language. And if this is what a 3.2 average 1300+ student sounds like, God help us.
