A Senoia man was arrested Monday by Peachtree City police in connection with an investigation into an assault outside a nightclub June 28 that led to the death of a Hampton man. James Armond Blackmon, 23, of Peeks Crossings, was charged with making false statements and writings. A Fairburn man, Jeremy Scott, 22, of Elder Street, has been charged with murder for the death of Devan Abercrombie, 32. Police have accused Scott of striking Abercrombie, causing his head to strike the pavement and knocking him unconscious. A week later, Abercrombie had died in a downtown Atlanta hospital of a brain injury when he was taken off life support. Police did not elaborate on what led to Blackmon’s charges, but previously Police Chief H.C. “Skip” Clark said officers interviewed between 25 and 30 people because it was difficult to find credible witnesses due to the fact that many people at the scene had been drinking. login to post comments |
