Girls of Red Room

Just how lonely and foolish does one have to be to attend an alcoholic bash that lasts all night and includes all races from out of town?
Also, this is expensive stuff, unless others are paying the way, and believe me they want paid one way or another.
Most people never even understood such places in Atlanta, but to be started in Peachtree City is an amazing thing to me.
The male attendees are easily explainable as to their attitude and actions. They are unreliable, underemployed, wild dudes looking for an easy drunken party. Or, some are middle class locals looking for an opportunity to visually check out what they may like to be doing, but can't due to their station in life.
The girls, as they are called--I hope they are women, are the ones difficult to understand as to why they would frequent such places.
In my youth as a veteran I got a few drinks in such places, and I never saw one girl or woman who I thought should be the Mother of my children! Also, I was afraid to deal with them knowing that they were sure to be hangers-on and much trouble.

Having spent most of my formative years in singles bars and dives in Metro Atlanta, I feel qualified to offer my completely subjective commentary regarding the bars of Peachtree City:

The Y-knot Bar: I quit going to the Y-knot when they quit offering live music. The place trends older and has morphed into basically a sports bar.

Hangar 74/Tavern on 74 This place has had an unusual history. From what I have heard, this place opened as an upscale bar, then attracted a largely blue collar clientele, then re-invented itself as an upscale place once again. Live music twice a month.

The Red Room (formerly Martinis) This is the closest thing that PTC has to a singles bar, although there are quite a few couples here. Wide range of ages here. They push the booze hard in here, and my personal opinion is that the hardcore drinkers tend to congregate here (not that there is anything wrong with that, just an observation).

Mulligan's Been in here twice. Most of the women here look like they'd at least consider offers requesting physical comfort where financial renumeration is involved. Sage, this is the sort of place usually seen outside of military installations.

The Twilight Lounge Betcha didn't know there was a biker bar close by! Technically not in PTC (a couple of miles out of town on Raymond Hill road), the waitresses are hired based on how they look in Daisy Dukes, not their ability to sling booze. Very country.

You left out some, but I guess they are considered "restaurants?"

Pretty sad situation isn't it? A town with really "no town here" situation with so much dope going on! What might it be when it really catches on that we don't care?

I feel badly for some of these people who regularly go there--not just for a night in hades occasionally, but as a way of life and for "friends."

Of course their way out is to criticize all and their children of being worse than they are---which means there is mental problems, also.

some people who like to go to the red room to have a good time. The Dj's are great. Just because someone goes to the red room male or female it doesn't define them as a person. It goes for Big Daddy's and other places as well. I've been in these places many times and seen people from all counties, all races, all ages. It's about doing what you want to do to have a good time but, it's also about self accountability. The decisions that people make it what matters.

As a younger women I was a bartender at bars around the airport that stayed open till 4:00 AM. On my night's off, I would maybe go to a bar and stay till closing time. i was not a hanger on, or a trouble maker. I went to meet friends, have a few drinks, and throw some darts. You degrade women so badly with what you write.
I am a home owner in PTC, as well as a business owner here. I'm not a parent only because my husband and I cannot have kid's.
You degraded all women with your comments. Be a man/women and apologize for your remarks!

The shrink rooms need to be inside the Red Room! I don't need them or the red room!

I have no idea what you mean!

PTC is a bastion of alcohol and lost children. "Night Clubs" fill up with such and trouble brews!

The false loyalty some of these younger people (18-30) to others of the same ilk getting into serious trouble baffles me!
It seems that a person or friend to them is one who agrees with everything and boosts falsely their morale, or the person is a spoilsport trying to get them into further trouble!
They should work towards getting a good job, save much of their money, buy a house, make friends at work--not bars, and if they are depressed get some free help---it is available. Many join the military but about half can't cut that either!
Anyway such bars are for friends to go to who don't need to meet anyone there, have their own money and transportation, get out early and just experience the bohemian atmosphere occasionally!
Unfortunately, such places are some people's total life.

Have you been to the Red Room? or it's predecessor?
I've seen PTC residents there women with their husbands, single women and single guys in 40's and even 50's. While some of the crowd tends to be younger, so it does at Big Daddy's.

How do who know who there is unemployed? under employed? from out of town?
You seem to indicate it's all poor what trash and worse it's the African element coming into town to drink the booze and grope the white women.

This could have happened anywhere, words are exchanged, someone steps in, a blow is struck with no intention of causing harm. It's dumb, it's stupid and it's tragic.
