Fayette Front Page.com

I used to read these Citizen blogs but they got so hateful, I switched to the Fayette Front Page.com. It’s nice to see their number of on line advertisers growing and growing since they peddle good and balanced news! There’s hope for our community yet! Anyone visiting the Citizen site from afar would think this is the worst community in the country to live in…not so by FFP standards. They have great 4th of July pics and no one criticizing the attendees! Just wanted you to know you have a choice, start your day with a smile Fayette!

What BOE Smith wouldn't say in this paper, she admitted in the Fayette Front Page.com....It is the same thing people have said they felt the controling majority on the BOE was trying to do. Buy land in the middle of no where under the guise of helping the overcrowded schools, then selling the excess to the developers.
Smith on School locations'
"School Locations – the Inman site was selected to alleviate overcrowding that was expected at Minter and East Fayette. The landowner would only agree to sell the whole parcel. The school system has been in this situation before and actually generated revenue selling the excess land. "

Folks, if you buy land to build a school for overcrowding, then sell the excess to developers to build on, you have not helped our kids, you have helped the developers.

At best, this shows bad judgement. There are other parcels of land and sometimes old farmers have been known to donate land for schools. If this guy would only sell all or nothing, there were other people with smaller amounts of land that would have been willing to get rid of the I'll bet.

believe this? She is actually advertising for her friend now...Tyrone is getting ready to oust the last one of the bunch still standing...very interesting!

I'm glad Citzenblogger, Dorthea, peachtreemomwhocares,Hi There, etc are gone. I hope they bask in the sunshine of Fayette Front Page. I don't really like being so mean, but they did nothing but go after the new candidates and Marion Key. It has been so long, and I know I have asked many many people to run for post 1. I'm thankful that Houston has come forward and Marion Key has stuck in there. We have watched a similar thing with the Tyrone Council, so I can imagine in a small way what Marion Key has suffered. 2 woman in Tyrone waited around 2 years for the cavalry. The things that were said to them and the abuse the took, was horrible.
I think if it had been me, I would have folded, thank you Marion, Gloria and Grace, for doing what a lot of us couldn't.

Evidently you haven't left the site entirely. How very very rude of you to come on to a site provided for us at no charge and badmouth the owners. If you do not want to come on this site-stay off--all dozen or so of you. But, no, you come on to promote another site. Sure shows that you lack class among other things, such as honesty, etc.

The Fayette Front Page is a Janet / Greg Dunn self promotion site. Their selected slate gets a perty powder puffed slick glossy fluff piece that is all bun and no meat. If you're into slick packaging like you get with an Obama campaign, you're gonn love Dunn's site.

Nope... I'd rather face the issues head on in regards to the good, the bad, & the ugly.

Git, I love your analogy of all bun-no meat! I have been blogging at this forum for over a year, and I don't always agree with comments, opinions, or some of the self-righteousness that goes on. That is certainly everyone's prerogative. Nonetheless, it is on this site where I get the most information, where I get the whole truth, and sometimes it comes in very raw form. I have gained respect for many, and lost respect for some as well. The person promoting the Fayette Front Page has used the Citizen for personal gain many times over, and all of a sudden is biting the hand that fed them. Good riddance to you; a dark cloud has lifted. I thank the Citizen for helping me become more active in the community, for making me so curious about the candidates running for office that I have investigated them, attended forums, and know that I am making the right choices. Something very important to me at the moment is restoring a sense of safety, and that means getting rid of Scott Ballard and electing Rudjard Hayes. I rejoice that we lost that person to the Fayette Front Page!

I thought your comment about Fayette FrontPage being Janet and Greg Dunn's self-promotion site was an exaggeration. I did a whois on the site and was very surprised to find out that Fayette Front Page is indeed registered to one Janet Dunn!

I had no idea!

If we take for example what Clinton did in the White House for 8 years we would not get anywhere.

People will justify doing something wrong if they want to. I have had that discussion a thousand times.

My point is what he did in the 4 years was enough not to put him in again. Maybe you could tell me what he did in the 4 years that justified him to be elected again?

I do believe that Bob Dole had more experience in his pinkie finger than Clinton. Did Clinton win again because he looked better than Bob Dole? Some would say yes. Please don't say yes that will make me sick. YUK! It is a matter of opinion. Some crazy people do vote for what someone looks like. I think that is stupid.

I think politics is a tough game. It's a hard one to play. Does anyone play perfect. I don't think so. Some have came very close.

For example could we say the matter of health care instead of say the person's name, your opponent. You could just say what you would do about health care.

Have you been to Obama's site? If so can you tell me what it said? Did it give me information? What I am saying I think it is more respectful to present the topic even if the other opponent has not done a good job on it. People will know what you are talking about.

I haven't made my mind up who I am voting for overall. To the person that asked about Logsdon, I didn't vote for him.

I wish politics could be presented in a different way, but hey that's politics. It's harder done than I know how. If I were involved in running for office maybe I would do it different. I don't mean to bash anyone. Politics is not easy.

For example I might loose my cool with Bill Clinton or Obama. So for that I apologize. I could do it also. I would hope not, but honestly with them, I probably would.

I believe that you can run a campaign without knocking what the other person has done.
Instead how about the candidate telling us what they are going to do to better things instead of speaking what the other candidate has done wrong.
If you do that and you win, guess what the next candidate that runs against you may do the good, bad and ugly to you.
I vote for the one that is telling me how he/she is going to better situations instead of what the other person did wrong.
We would never get off of here if we told all the things Clinton did wrong. It would never stop.
With saying that I like both sites. The one I don't want to read I don't. Both sites are good sites.
If people choose the good, bad and ugly they don't get my vote.
If the candidate does not tell me how he/she is going to accomplish what they are going to do I don't vote for them. INFORMATON, INFORMATION, INFORMATION IS WHAT WE NEED.

Think about what you just said. It is what "the other person has done" that needs to and must be examined. Otherwise we need to just fill these positions via a lottery or something like that. And to show how a candidate might do "better things" he must have a benchmark in which to compare himself to. Otherwise you could select a candidate on how he looks as former State Senator Rick Price once counseled me to do. Or how perty his slick glossy mailer with his family looks.

I don't see a problem with the advertisement. Fayette Front Page's format is so horrible that I don't think many people get around to the content.

I tried to read it too and rarely check it out because of the very reasons you mention. But how in the world are we going chum for sharks if we don't throw a little blood in the water once in a while? Smiling

I checked out FFP and what I found was little news and candidate information. But, it's always good to have more rather than less community information and they do have video clips of Rudjard Hayes who will make a great district attorney. Interestingly, I also found comments in Janet Smola's school board document that were negative about Marion Key, another candidate. Isn't this supposedly why Janet refused to answer Cal's questions, because she wanted to run a clean campaign? Frankly, I don't understand this since Janet isn't even running against Marion. Wouldn't you think she would be attacking Dave Houston who is infinitely qualified and running against her?

never reveals their true ingredients. I suspect the person you say is lactose intolerent is probably truth intolerent as well. Have you noticed that a certain BOE incumbent's campaign sign has a black background? Could that be because of the black cloud the presence brings to the community? Maybe Werewolf, Frankenstein and the Buggyman are all the same persona? Hope you have a good day!
