Four people were taken to area hospitals after a SUV collided with an ambulance in downtown Fayetteville Thursday afternoon [June 19].

None of the injuries were classified as life-threatening. Two occupants of the ambulance were transported for treatment along with two people who were in the SUV.

The ambulance had been responding to an emergency call with its lights and sirens activated when the crash occurred after 3 p.m., officials said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of North Jeff Davis Drive and Lanier Avenue, causing traffic to back up until the intersection could be cleared.

It figures that there is an accident involving an emergency vehicle. People just dont care about them. I think that our law enforcement agencies should start writing tickets for drivers that dont yield.
