Fayette County Board of Education

Can someone tell me why students are denied the change of schools? I applied for my daughter to continue to attend Bennett's Mill Middle for her 8th grade year becasue we just moved to the Whitewater Middle district. We were denied. BMMS is under-populated anyway. It is her 8th grade year. She was successful at BMMS. She had great relationships with the teachers. I am very disappointed with the decision. I wish they would have given us a reason. It seems as though everyone else can do what they want. I just want a reason. Could it be that we are just not that popular? Or maybe I need to quit my job and work in the lunch room.

Get a psychiatrist letter to state your child needs to stay for her well-being. They will roll over like puppies. It is tried and tested and I do not know of anyone who has not been successful going that route.

but take it up the chain of command. Try, but be prepared to be denied. At least you have done everything that you could do for your child.

I'm not familiar with the politics here - but maybe a recommendation from a teacher stating that she should be allowed to finish her last year at this middle school may help. Sometimes in education, we forget about the child.
