Comment on Salary

Good morning everyone. My name is Lynda Owens and I work for the wonderful citizens of Tyrone in the Recreation Department. There has been a recent blog from someone (I can't remember the name...it might have been someone called suggarfoot???) Forgive me if I have it wrong. But the blog said that I was a recreation director and wanted to know what benefits I had and for someone to please check it out. I would like to set the record straight. I am not a director. I am the ASSISTANT to the COORDINATOR of the Recreation Department. No director exists. I make ZERO benefits. Except for I get to work for Tyrone...which is a benefit. I invite any and all who doubt this to check with the Town Hall and verify the above. I thank you for your time and allowing me to serve you.
Best wishes!
Lynda

For explaining your employment. It is unfortunate that incorrect rumors circulate. The fault lies with the Town. No citizen can just go to Town Hall and get answers to questions. You are put-off, ignored or sometimes threatened with arrest for demanding to see public records. Ultimately you have to file a formal open records act request. Then your request will be sent to the expensive Town Lawyer, who will write $200-$400 letters telling you that you were not specific enough or some other mumbo-jumbo legal opinion. After a while most citizens give up and ask other people who give their opinion, which is usually wrong but circulates as truth. No municipal government can compete with Tyrone for secrecy.

A few of us know the truth and when we tell it; we called trouble makers and haters, even by some council members to low-rate our character. I personally know that you have told the truth. But the end is near for business as usual in Tyrone.
