The “Get Out the Vote Committee” of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City is sponsoring a public “Meet and Greet the Candidates Night” on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the McIntosh Ballroom at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City.

Candidates who have opposition in the July 15 Primary Election have been invited to participate in the program where they will have the opportunity to speak briefly about themselves and their platform and then the public will have the opportunity of visiting with them in an open face to face conversation.

The Rotary Committee urges the public to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about those asking for their vote.

Candidates invited to participate in the forum include those seeking election to the Fayette County Board of Commissioners, the Fayette County School Board, Fayette County Sheriff, District Attorney, Judge of Probate Court, Fayette County Tax Commissioner, State Senate District 16 and District 34, House District 66 and District 73 and U.S. Representative for District 3.

For additional information, contact Francis Meadors at 770-487-7799.

Every election is about comparison and choice. It does not help that much to know a lot about candidate A, unless you also know about his opponent candidate B.

So this article (and a lot of others like it) would have been a lot more helpful if it had provided the names of the people running for each position.
