Candidate Emory Wilkerson

Is this county ready for a Black Republican County Commissioner? What difference does his race make? Let's look at his platform and ideas for the county. I can tell you one thing - his is not a Virgil Fludd Democrat. Emory is truly a conservative Republican. I remember seeing him on TV when the Republican Party did a tribute to Ronald Reagan stating he was a Ronald Reagan Republican. He was not running for office then. Emory will serve us well. He is informed - unlike some of the other candidates. Have any of the others that are running even been to a County Commission meeting EVER?

During the last election, Mr. Wilkerson was canvassing my neighborhood. He came to my door and presented his campaign. I was happy to see a Republican wearing out the shoe leather. He had my vote within the first minute, but he made a deal with me. He said to only vote for him only if no other candidate visited my door. This showed he had the confidence and understanding of his opponents and politics. Of course, no one else visited my home. Well there was the person who, with my invitation, came by and put one of Mr. Wilkerson's campaign signs in my yard.
