Sheriffing talk!

I have had enough of the sheriff election talk. It seems a half dozen or so people who hope to be deputies or work for the sheriff continue the same old talk ad infinitum.
Can't you people get onto the forum or something and talk to one another? None of the rest of us is interested!
As long as we "elect" sheriffs we will continue to have the same old "good old boy" network and little professionalism in hiring and maintaining law and order.

Can you imagine what kind of Chief of Police PTC would have if they were "elected?"

You seemingly are oblivious to all that the local Sheriff's Department does for Fayette County. My advise to you is simple...

1)Quit reading the comments regarding the impending Sheriff's election! DUH!!

2)Take some time out of your busy blogging schedule and educate yourself on the efforts of your local Sheriff's Department. Do you do anything other than display your comments on every issue that is known to man? Just wondering!

And now for my last tidbit of advice for Mr. or Ms. Opinionated...

3)GET A LIFE!!

In resonse to your statement that "None of the rest of us is interested!" Since when did you become the elected spokesperson for the residents of Fayette County? I don't recall voting in that election.

I also advise that you enroll in an English Grammer course. "None of the rest of us ARE interested," in your stupid opinions anyway! Have a great day and happy blogging!

I know this is pedantic, but....

I also advise that you enroll in an English Grammer course. "None of the rest of us ARE interested," in your stupid opinions anyway! Have a great day and happy blogging!

Actually, in this case, both are acceptable, and some grammarians have even argued that, since "none" is a contraction of "no one" or, perhaps, "not one," the singular "is" is preferred. But usage has steered away from this so that "are" sounds more natural to your ears and mine, and is probably used more unless the intended emphasis is something like "not one of us is...."

I decided to ignore the jab but I suppose some do feel that whatever they like is the gospel! Grammer is grammar, and advise is advice--depends upon whuts hoppenin do it?

Can you detect what all this division is about concerning a sheriff?
I don't think I have ever known one (full sheriff) personally in my entire life!
I'm certainly not going to vote on the number of signs each has or just who is what party. What has party got to do with a sheriff, anyway?
They are all republican here anyway whether they are or not!

The Sheriff's election and the DA's election is actually a very big deal. I think it will determine whether or not we can continue to enjoy low crime, or if we are going to invite fulton and clayton crime in and give them free rein.

The Sheriff's race is of utmost importance right now!! The primary is just around the corner and those of us who actually care about this county and it's future are concerned about the race. People need to know which candidate is best for the future of this county. If you value your safety, oppurtunity, and property value you must be concerned about the impending Sheriff's race. Only one candidate will continue to take this county in a positive direction. That candidate is definately NOT Hannah. Hannah has built a reputation of indecisive weak leadership within the department. Hannah has never supervised more than 20 people in his long career. The traffic division is one of the smallest divisions within the department. Hannah is only wanting two terms as sheriff because that's when he's eligible for the sheriff's retirement. Do we want a sheriff with the county's best interest in mind or his own retirement. If you want true insight on the candidates, ask those who work in the department. Most of them refuse to work under Hannah. The deputies have made it clear that they support Babb. Babb is supervising around 63 officers and managing the budget for the entire field operations department. He has a reputation of honesty and integrity. Babb can give us 25 more years of service. I am going with what the deputies say. They are the only ones who really know Babb and Hannah! Babb is who we need leading this county, no question!!

about what's really going on in this dept. Your quote "The deputies have made it clear that they support Babb." Was that the reason Hannah panicked and showed up May 31 at 5:30am? Understood loads of intimidating actions coming from him that morn.

Thanks officers for persevering, hang in there. My hat is off to you.
