‘Drug money’ really is taxpayers’ money

I would like to echo the sentiments of other Fayette County citizens in stating the obvious.

The Sheriff’s Department acquired the “drug money” while on the taxpayer’s dime. The “drug money” is, therefore, really taxpayer money and should go back in the general operating fund with the net effect of reducing taxes.

No other employer in the world would let their employees essentially moonlight while on the company clock. It’s amazing how the only people who seem to get away with it are those who are supposed to be upholding the law.

The law that mandates that the monies derived form drug seizures must to go to the Sheriff’s Department, and may NOT go anywhere else is a Federal Law.

Chairman Dunn had it read to him just a few months ago by the Department of Justice.

Stop it Steve Brown - no one cares about your opinions. Someone at the paper feels bad about endorsing you and he is helping me track you.
