Some found on cart path, others in mailboxes Peachtree City police have filed charges against four juveniles for setting off “bottle bombs” on the cart path in the area of Georgian Park Wednesday night. But while those juveniles were being interviewed the same evening, another group of juveniles set off another device in the area of Cove Road and Fishers Luck, police said. Police learned those juveniles had purchased chemicals to make the bombs at a shopping center just before the incident. The next morning police received more bottle bomb reports with devices found in the Timber Walk, Interlochen, and Carnellian Lane areas, police said. One of those bottle bombs was placed in a homeowner’s mail box, police said. Police have offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for these incidents. The juveniles in the Georgian Park incident were located by police but they refused to stop the golf cart they were riding on, police said. Three of them jumped off the cart eventually but the driver was stopped a short time later on Turtle Bay, police said. All four juveniles were charged with manufacturing an explosive device and obstruction of a police officer, and the charges will be brought in Fayette County Juvenile Court, police said. login to post comments |
