Fischer Crossing to look like the AvenueThu, 05/29/2008 - 3:29pm
By: Ben Nelms
Ground is being cleared and construction of the first phase of what will become the 800,000 square-foot Fischer Crossing retail center could be underway by Aug. 1. The initial phase, destined for the north side of Ga. Highways 54/34 and Fischer Road will include approximately 250,000 square feet of retail. First up on the northeast side of the Fischer Road intersection will be a 136,000 square-foot Sam’s Club, a 14,000 square-foot CVS Pharmacy and a 10,000 square-foot Japanese restaurant. Also in the first phase and located on the northeast side of Fischer and Hwy. 54 will be a 14-screen, 39,000 square-foot theater and two, 20,000 square-foot buildings that will house upscale retail shops and restaurants, said Scott Seymour of Seymour Development Corp. Seymour said the new development will not look like traditional retail developments. Instead of squared-off, box-style buildings, the development will have an upscale village-type look, with many of the store fronts featuring varying elevations. Information provided at the development’s website shows the project with a “walkable” pedestrian-friendly environment and a Village Center as its focal point that retains a Main Street character. login to post comments |
