Peachtree City police are hoping a $500 reward helps to get more information on two recent explosions of homemade bombs. The latest homemade bomb exploded on the front porch of a north Peachtree City residence early Wednesday morning. The bomb, made using a 20-ounce bottle and an unknown liquid, detonated but caused no damage, and no one was injured by the blast, police said. A similar incident was reported at a residence in the 300 block of Hippocket Road in central Peachtree City, police said. In that incident a witness saw several white male juveniles in the area of some mailboxes before hearing "a noise consistent with an explosion," police said. The juveniles were last seen running towards the Willowbend Road area. The explosion appeared to be caused by a small homemade explosive device, police said. Police are following up leads in the cases. The reward will be issued for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or person responsible for the crimes, police said. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the department's criminal investigations division at 770-631-2510 or the crime and narcotics information hotline at 770-487-6010. login to post comments |
