Why wait til they are dead?I sometimes read Cal Thomas' syndicated column. Hardly ever agree with the majority of what he says. He makes his living generally writing stuff that a certain large number of citizens want to hear. He seldom varies that mind-frame. However his piece this week about Ted Kennedy, although written a bit late, does show that Cal has a reasonable side to him, albeit not used much. Kennedy certainly wasn't totally sensible as a younger man and got caught at it a time or two. He managed to get out of trouble like most that age do who are generally responsible people. His brothers were a little more cautious with their "acting like Father," but paid the ultimate price. This Kennedy, as Cal said, was a reasonable Senator. He gave and he got. There has never been a more dedicated public servant. We must have two parties in our government to exist and he represented one of them very well. Maybe he can continue that for a few more years. sageadvice's blog | login to post comments |
