Mowell

My goodness--if you really knew these fine people you would move on to something much more important! I have personally witnessed the compasion, caring, and support of the staff at Mowell Funeral Home many times. I have seen David Mowell come into a home at 5 in the morning and comfort a grieving family as their father/husband was being transported to the funeral home and make this situation so much easier for the family.

As for charges, when my Mother died, I went to the funeral home to make arrangements, told them how much money was available for the service and was told when the insurance check was recieved I could pay the bill. There was a police escort and no charge was billed to our family.

No one is saying that Mowell's doesn't do a great job with what they do. I will not hesitate to use them for any of my own family members, and expect that they would be the folks to take care of me, too, when my time comes.

I've never had ANY complaint with any dealing with them, ever. Except for this charge.

I'm guessing that no one who uses Mowells from now on will see this charge (unless they're having a private motorcade). Hope that is true for the other local funeral homes, too.

The original letter writer did not name names (as it wasn't just happening at Mowells), so was not singling out Mowells. Just FYI.

Donna,
There are people on here who try to tear down everything good about Fayette County. I agree with you about Mowell, and I don't think a negative blog will hurt them. They are too well established.
