Sad whining by school budget people!

The worst mistake the school management can make is to raise the taxes on what is left of us to pay their bloated budget.

They are doing such a sad job anyway of educating many of our students, some changes may be helpful!

When 90% of the school budget is tied to teacher's salaries, just how much can it be cut to spend only what you have?
Do we need to cut the quantity of teachers, thereby increasing the number of students per teacher? Maybe. If we pay what teachers that would be left some more money. That means better selectivity of teachers however!

What the problem is with our schools is that we have too many students who are learning little at school. That is a waste of their time and of the excess quantity of teacher's time.
If we don't soon make corrections at the lower level grades, we will have half of our upper grade students wasting their time! (not far from that now).

No, I'm not talking race! Time to forget that. All races have had time to catch up.
A country in a recession can not continue to spend money like a drunken soldier!

Why? Why all the drivel? Why so much of it?

For a year or two, it was somewhat comical. Now it's just SAD. Sad

Well, if you think it is drivel to say our schools are doing poorly, then I have no answer for you!

They are failing!

That is your problem: anyone with ideas other than you, only does drivel! That attitude put us into the problems we now have in the USA.

You never have any answers.

There are three distinct things in my original comments that would improve our schools. You did read it all, did you not?

Quit passing kids who can not pass!
Select teachers better---get rid of some.
Start at grade school to sort them!
More:
Stop allowing Principals and school boards to turn their head about bad teachers.
(their students determine that)
Don't bring everyone down to the lowest level!

It is like customer service has gotten to nowadays: It is about jobs and not much about students.
Have you ever noticed where employees park any more, even at businesses? In the best slots for all day!! Not customers!

Why not put these points in your original comments?

is we are going to ....HAVE... to have someone in office who ...WILL...THROW THE OUT OF COUNTY STUDENTS OUT! It is very plain to any parent who drops their kids off that what the current board is doing is not working! If it is because of turning a blind eye, or not being able to think up a solution, it doesn't matter, point is, they have failed.

With gas prices, and schools in the middle of no where, redistricting is going to have to take place, and it won't be pretty, but the taxpayers will have to bear it. This is the fruit of the boards folly of building schools away from the population.
