I saw the $4.00 gas today, and $5.00 plus, dieselChicago was at $4.50 for gas. The war we started to keep Saddam from capturing Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, and then setting HIS price on oil, may be working---but if it is, then I suppose gas would have been $12.00 here per gallon now if we had not taken Baghdad, and eliminated Saddam. My worry is the same one that caused Japan to blow up Pearl Harbor in 1941. At a certain level of oil price, I'm afraid we will do it again to a few other places where the oil is, to stop maybe $50.00 a gallon gas here! Everything else would go up proportionately---freight by truck, all food, clothing. building, etc. Folks we will start wars over less than that!!!!! Solution: stop using very much oil. I know China will grab some of it, but they aren't fools either about price! Is it better to do without many things we want, or to pay for another big war and also do without? Someone will have to do it who isn't running for office! sageadvice's blog | login to post comments |
