Tyrone’s Land of Oz continues

If you have not heard Grace “the wicked witch of the west” Caldwell now has the Mayors ruby red slippers. Don “the if I had a brain scarecrow” Rehwaldt quickly handed them over during a council meeting (one of the public ones) when Grace lit her broomstick and waved it in his face (he now trembles in fear at the sight of her). Gloria “Toto” Furr is still making a lot of noise but doing nothing. Eric “the cowardly lion” Dial actually tried to do something (ethics ordinance) but scurried away at the sight of the lit broomstick. (Tracy Young is still looking out for the unincorporated residents of Tyrone). Judy J. “Nikko, King of the flying animals” has been frequently seen circling Shamrock Park (guess that explains the green spots). For those that might be interested the trees around the lake were cut down because it was determined that they might be “fighting trees” and Toto, had been caught by one of the small branches of a "fighting tree" and shaken until she howled. Not sure what has happened to Bill “the Mighty Oz” McNally, last seen he was attempting to transform into “Scrooge McDuck” and simply pass the day away counting his money

I have read the diatribe above twice and still have no idea what TJAM is trying to say. Good satire is usually deeply rooted in the realities of the world, but this is just incomprehensible gibberish.

Let's please have a logical, facts based discussion of the issues in Tyrone!

Logical Facts Based Discussions are Fruitless in Tyrone

Because, no matter who is in power they don’t listen even to their supporters. Everyone has their own selfish agendas. The few who would like to address logical concerns are not united and have no power. Tyrone’s problems have always emanated from its government officials. They don’t know or follow their own laws. Fact: Town manager Venice stated in the April 10 Planning Minutes that the Zoning Ordinance designates a “Town Center”. Fact: No such Zoning District has ever been adopted. Fact: Atty. Davenport stated in the April 17 Council Minutes that “he was not aware of any jurisdictions requirement for notification of discontinuance of a non-conforming land uses” Fact: Tyrone Regulation 2.1.4 states, “non-conforming uses shall not be abandoned without the Town providing proper notice as required by this Ordinance and the GA Zoning Procedures Act. Fact: The Council is moving forward with its Comprehensive Development Plan. Fact: The Plan is based on a citizen’s survey to which the survey itself states is not representative of the Town as a whole. Fact: Downtown Redevelopment mostly affects downtown businesses and property owners. Fact: The vast majority of businesses were not represented in the development of this Plan; and still aren’t as the Planners are currently making changes based on their own opinions. I could go on and on, but no one in an official position is going to listen. What can you do when your officials act on advise from their lawyer who makes unfounded statements? So Boxwing, tell me how we can ever have a “meaningful” logical, fact based discussion. I’m all ears?

Once upon a time there was a little girl who wanted to be on the council, or be mayor, no one is certain which. She likes to take cracks at the new government. No one knows the logic.

And someone who has to drive all the way across Atlanta everyday to play fireman...is still jealous of Grace!
