An 11-year-old boy avoided a potential child abduction Thursday afternoon, according to deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy, who was in the Horseman’s Run subdivision off Goza Road in south Fayette County between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m., was approached by a young man who asked the boy to get into his truck, according to an email circulated by the subdivision’s community association.

The boy, who was playing near the tennis courts at the time, said no and went to a neighbor’s house while the suspect got away, according to the email.

The suspect was described as a white male between 18-20 years old with brown hair and a goatee who was wearing a light blue visor over a red and black bandanna, deputies said. The suspect drove a teal green full-size pickup truck, officials said.

Why has the comment been removed from the person who asked what happened at the Publix last night? I was in the area around 5 and there were police and lots of young (teens - early 20 year olds) crowded outside of Mike and C's. Then I saw the other comment about the SWAT and helicopter outside of Publix. There was a helicopter flying over the south end this afternoon. WHAT IS GOING ON?

Hopefully we will get the full story in the paper soon.

Not to worry though, with school almost out we will see more gratuitous crime thanks to the kind of parents and kids we have here.

I'm sure once again PTC police will be out manned and out gunned by the kind of kids we have living here.

At least the parents and kids here are consistent, you have to give them credit for that.

Cyclist--you know what that means: you and I are about to disappear, along with all of our posts, as if we never existed.

On second thought, maybe I've been watching too many Twilight Zone reruns.

Seriously, I would like to know what's going on down at the Publix.

What happened to the comment last evening on here about whether someone ratted out Muddle to his employer about something he said on here and he was fired?

It disappeared about as soon as it appeared!

I sure hope not, but I did warn you about coffees and friendships mixing with people saying what they really think!!!!

and we all learn early on that we have to endure that here since it is somehow in the nature of the beast. Would that it would be some other way, but unfortunately in this day in age, it seems to be the societal norm...from stores to restaurants to schools to blogs. To carry that feeling over to where you actually attack someone in reality (rather than virtually) goes beyond the pall. How someone would take something that is said (or happens) here and use it against someone in reality goes beyond my understanding. Please maintain your wits about you, friends. We may disagree, at times, strongly, but we must understand that it is from how we perceive the world, not how we perceive each other personally. Keep the faith.

Why would anyone do something that mean? Which one of your personalities did that?

Are you there?
Did whoever put the note on here change their mind?
That would be vicious if untrue!

Last night, I was busy prepping a "digital photo frame" for Mothers Day, and I never saw what you are referring to.

I suspect the new blogger who brought up the incident at Publix may have deleted her account, thus eliminating the thread. However, that's just a guess.

My kids said this is not the first time this teal green pickup has been an issue in Horseman's Run. Of course this came from 'kids'. But it does make you wonder.

Any Updates? IMNSHO? Where art thou IMNSHO?

Please tell me they've found this piece of human debris. This is hitting real close to home. I'm heading home to put on my camos cuz I'm going predator hunting.

Come on Sheriff's Department. Give us good news. Like you apprehended this Piece Of Human Debris and have him in custody. Better yet please tell us he is now 'room temperature' due to a failed escape.

Later.... gotta call Mrs. Git and tell her to get the gitlets.

Damn an animal like that!

I've got a $1000 campaign contribution to the first candidate for sheriff that comes in wearing this Friends Of Ballard Fan Club initiate's scalp on his tool belt.

Gee.... looks like that will eliminate Simmons.

I would suggest that you change your ways or vacate the county. If we catch you the police will be called, and the call will something like this;

911> Fayette County 911, what is your emergency?

Caller> There is an unconscious man covered in blood.

911> Can you tell where the blood is coming from?

Caller> Yes, it looks like he has been castrated.

911> Is he breathing?

Caller> Yes, unfortunately.

911> Where is he located?

Caller> Sitting along Goza road in a teal green full-size pickup truck.

911> Can you describe him?

Caller> Yes. He's a white male approximately 18-20 years old with brown hair and a goatee. He is wearing a light blue visor over a red and black bandanna.

911> Please stay on the line. The police are on their way.

I'll be the one performing the castration on the SOB. He'd better GET OUT before he's the one that gets hurt.
