My pastor wasn't on T.V. having to explain things he had said.

It was Mr. Wright "The BLT Church" on having to explain things he has said and it is still hurting Obama.

BTW do you go to church? If not what can you say about it? What do you know about it?

We have numerous black churches within SBC, that's how much you know, they don't have a thing to do with BLT. We see them as "The Human Race" red, yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. SBC main goal is that people become Christians not a SBC. Of course you don't understand.

Why are you still diagnosing Denise, your not too good at diagnosing you should know by now? Who are you to be diagnosing anyone.Laughing out loud Sniffles you are funny.

You mean those ministers (SBC) don't speak to their congregations about ministries to improve their communities? They don't point with pride to those in their community who have achieved? You still haven't pointed out to me the statement on the Trinity Webpage that states the members of that church hate white people. Interesting since the denomination of that church is predominantly 'white'. Trinity is located in a 'black' neighborhood and the church has 8000 members. I don't know of one member who has ever done a 'hateful' act towards 'whites'. Do you?

Please point out the 'hate' in the statements below.

We [African Americans] were always seen as objects. When we started defining ourselves, it scared those who try to control others by naming them and defining them for them; Oppressors do not like “others” defining themselves.

• To have a church whose theological perspective starts from the vantage point of Black liberation theology being its center, is not to say that African or African American people are superior to any one else.

• African-centered thought, unlike Eurocentrism, does not assume superiority and look at everyone else as being inferior.

• There is more than one center from which to view the world. In the words of Dr. Janice Hale, “Difference does not mean deficience.” It is from this vantage point that Black liberation theology speaks.

• Systematized Black liberation theology is 40 years old. Scholars of African and African American religious history show that Black liberation theology, however, has been in existence for 400 years. It is found in the songs, the sermons, the testimonies and the oral literature of Africans throughout the Diaspora.

Please point out the 'hate'.

To equate BLT with KKK is ludicrous.

The White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan was considered the most militant as well as violent Ku Klux Klan in history. They originated in Mississippi in the early 1960s under the leadership of Samuel Bowers, its first Imperial Wizard.

The White Knights were responsible for many bombings, church burnings, beatings, and murders. In 1964, they murdered three civil rights workers, Andrew Goodman, James Chaney, and Michael Schwerner. The victims were members of the Congress Of Racial Equality. Neshoba County Deputy Sheriff Cecil Price, along with Edgar Ray Killen, Wayne Roberts of Meridian, Mississippi and several other members of the Klan, shot them to death and buried their bodies in a dam outside of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Edgar Ray Killen was convicted of these murders in 2005, 40 years after they occurred. Price and Roberts are now deceased. The film Mississippi Burning (1988) is based on these events.

LOL, I was just cutting and pasting that to ask the very same question. How is that remotely compared to the KKK, whose platform requires, in part, the following:

"The recognition that America was founded as a White nation.

America was born as an extension of White European heritage. Those who formed the very ideals that we cherish such as freedom of speech, trial by jury, innocent until proven guilty, free enterprise, etc. were of White European heritage. All of the early laws of the United States from its very inception restricted citizenship to White people and all of the early charters, laws, compacts, etc were signed into effect by White people."

"We support a national law against the practice of homosexuality

This is a Christian nation and the Bible condemns homosexual activity and the perversion of our society which it encourages."

"We support the placing of all persons HIV positive into national hospitals"

"While the AIDS virus is almost inclusive to homosexuals and those not of European ancestry, many innocent people have contacted the virus. Despite the moral character of a person, the virus is still highly contagious with new and deadlier forms coming out constantly. Everyone who gets it dies! Aids carriers should receive proper medical care while a cure is being researched. This is the only way to stop the spread of the disease. They should be kept from coming into contact with uninfected people."

"We support the voluntary repatriation of everyone not satisfied with living under White Christian rules of conduct back to the native lands of their people"
"We must take back control of OUR U.S. government. We intend to put Klansmen and Klanswomen in office all the way from the local school board to the White House!"

Lovely stuff.

They are called condoms......use them. This isn't rocket science people. We don't need to spend billions of dollars on a problem that could be solved by something as simple as using a condom and being safe.

It is a personal choice ...do you want to live or not??

Submitted by Sick of Fascists on Fri, 05/02/2008 - 9:25pm.

Please clarify....are you suggesting that those that are already HIV infected should just be left to die?

Submitted by skyspy on Fri, 05/02/2008 - 9:35pm.

I don't think anyone would suggest that people should be left to die, like YOU just suggested.

However we are throwing some serious jack at a problem that has a very easy and cheap cure. We torture lab animals because lazy humans don't want to be inconvenienced with using condoms and being smart. Doesn't make sense to me.

Way back in the 80's when this disease was first identified, and we knew how it was transmitted.....if we had all been careful from that day forward I think it is very possible that the AIDS virus would have disappeared and died with the first few victims. With cancer there is no easy proven way to avoid it.....but with AIDS.....

I guess we should all just keep being careless.....we have plenty of animals to torture until we find a cure.

Both preach racism and hate:

BLT - "Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community
... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."

Lovely Stuff, indeed

Hack,

Barack Obama has been a member of a Black Liberation Theology "church" (or cult, however you want to look at it) for TWENTY-YEARS. Not 20 months. Not 2 years. 20 YEARS.

Now, we have gone over the tenets of BLT ad nauseum, and I'm not going to repeat it again.

Are you actually trying to imply that Barack is not infected with this BLT nonsense? Do you think that someone that belongs to the KKK for 20 years or the the Aryan Nation for 20 years is not infected?

And yes, "Destruction of White People". That's what BLT teaches blacks. We have read it over and over and over again.

Man up, Hack and admit that Barack has some splaining to do for being a member and continuing to be a member of this racist hate-filled church.

Barack Obama is the personification of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

1) I asked for proof and examples of Barack being infected by a "hate all whites" message and mentality. You still have not brought that evidence.

2) If you are going to keep equating this BLT church to the klan, please show me nice letters and rebuttals written by blacks after attending klan meetings, as I have provided you Editorials and personal testimony by whites who were welcomed by the message you all claim has tainted Barack.

Fair enough?

If you are going to continuously claim Barack hates his white half, at least you can use his own words, can't you? Anyone immersed in a "hate whites" message surely has said something you can use against him to prove this.

"Evidence," "proof," etc., sounds like bpr and her ranting!

Opinions aren't evidence and neither are anything Wright says.

It just isn't logical that Obama could know this guy for 20 years, read all his books, hear all his sayings, and then suddenly say he doesn't agree! In fact he said not two weeks ago that stuff said in a black church for heritage consumption and in any context one wants to use, isn't fodder for politics! (No, those weren't his words but that is what they meant to me---just as Obama heard what he wanted to hear and ignored it).Church is fun if you can say what you think!
Obama also knows now, and should have from day one, he will not make it if he agrees with the sayings of Wright. McCain will thump him even if the democrats screw up and nominate Obama.
This sort of thing is different than say, McCain arguing both ways on abortion with a lot of words!
Such talk makes many think that the USA will be all given away immediately to minorities, ASAP, if he is elected, just to pay off old debts.

Of course Barack heard these same things said in many ways over the years. Even if he weren't there much he still would have heard them in one way or another.
Have you ever heard republicans defend Richard Nixon, or Ronald Reagan as to whether he knew of Iran Contra?
Their answers aren't much different than listening to someone of a deep black heritage explain to a cop or judge what happened at a crime scene.
"I never saw nothin ossifer. Rally I dint! My bro here howsumever nevr done did nothing--that i know. Oh yeah, I did see that much. Those other 25 bros hangin round saw nothin neither--you know they is black and bin misaproite treated by whiteys is there pronlm! They cut of our water and juice las week you know?
I ben meanin to pay that subsides rent for som tim now but ever tim I start to the ofice I get robbed afore i git thar. We shulfny have to pay it nowways they dont maintane nothin anyway--our toilet ben jammed for days with t shurts---they done nothin!

How is your wifes sister doing?

My sister in law is still in ICU. Slow improvements. I don't want to put her medical info out there, but it isn't far off of Mrs. Muddle's struggles; just not as severe, at this point.

Talked to Hutch today. He is aging in reverse. I wish I could do that. he said not much change on his sister. Let's keep all of our extended blogging family in prayer.

As for the flip flop, I don't see it. If Barack says he hasn't heard offensive speech from someone, but denounces the taped speech he sees on television. Then, when the loony rev speaks lunacy in front of a live audience, he cuts the rev's legs off at the knees and rejects him completely, where is the beef? Where is the flip? Again, no one has shown that Barack heard the speeches in question. Visitors to the church recounted messages of hope and inspiration. How is it hard to believe that Barack heard the same messages these white visitors heard. Why has someone trained to hate whites never uttered hateful words towards whites? I think this manufactured "pen Wright's words on Obama" is doomed to fail, simply because, in America, we speak for ourselves. I don't answer for your words and you don't answer for mine. You and I are friends. We've shared food and drink. Does that mean you believe everything that I say, or that you are forced to repudiate everything I say? Not at all.

I still need about 23 more blogs on this topic, though. Cheers, and have a great weekend

And I am tired of explaining this over and over and over and over gain to you and David's Mom. But I will anyway, because like Hack says, any publicity is good publicity.

Barack has been a member of a BLT hate-filled, racist church for 20 years, a church that follows the teachings of Cone, who wants God to destroy the white man. Barack is now running for POTUS, and it is entirely relevant that we ask that he explain why he remains a member, now that we all know what BLT is all about.

I believe that you are like me and you want people to be treated equal.

I had never heard of BLT, until Sky talked about the Death to White America that Mr. Wright preached on. Then I did my research.

I must say not all, I call it the "Human Race" churches are like this.
Black churches- tons in SBC, they don't and won't have a thing with BLT or they could not be part of the demonation. We love people not skin color.

I do compare BLT with KKK which they are both hate speech.

I want Obama to say that he is not BLT, when on the church site they state they are. He had to know this. I am not attacking Obama, I would do it if it was anyone.

The BLT belief system which I have put up by James Cone does not go along with the bible. We are to love all people.

Okay, I am being fair on this subject.

I have read Hagee and Parsley have said, I don't agree with them. The difference is McCain did not attend their church for 20 years nor does he now. This is not a defense, it is facts. If Hagee and Parsley support him what is he to do?

I do believe in the statement that Islam is a false religion, Malcolm X was Islam.

James Cone founder of "Black Liberation Theology" took Martin Luther King and Malcolm X to create BLT. When Martin Luther King was alive he said that he did not want anything to do with the combination. Thank you Martin Luther King. He quoted that it is wrong and would only cause problems that he was trying to take care of in the first place. What a great statement.

People we are talking color of skin, please I find it ridiculous and not Christ like to base someone's value by the color of skin.

This kind of teaching or speech is not allowed at my house, nor the church I attend. I have always taught my child this and he does not have a problem with it. I value people too much.

If they are all false, then we just eliminated 95% of the world!

"Cone took MLK and Malcolm X to create BLT." Makes no sense to me!
