Tyrone Council Action

Driving through Tyrone on 74 this weekend it was apparent that the new council has repealed their sign ordinance (must have been at one of their secret meetings); it looked awful. This group must not care about first impressions.

The new government is acting just like the old one. You would think Barry Amos is still in charge and I believe Valerie is still taking orders from Amos. The sign ordinance, passed by Barry in 1997, was designed to run businesses out of town, and they make up the rules as they go. The owner of “This n That” Shannon Foster was told in February she could not put out banners when the ordinance clearly says she can. As a result Shannon is having a going out of business sale. Box Car Café was told they could only advertise their menu from 7am to 2pm even though they stay open to 8 pm. This is a freedom of speech violation. Anti-business Tyrone lives on. Businesses will be forced to fight back. In fact discussions of a class action lawsuit are already underway.

Owner Wayne Adams, a staunch promoter in last year elections for new government candidates, got a visit for Tyrone’s inspector of a complaint about storage of his tires. After being constantly harassed about his tires for years by Barry Amos, Wayne Adams was instrumental in obtaining over 400 signatures on a petition to get rid of Barry and Valerie. Barry Amos was never successful because, as Wayne Adams stated, his tire storage is regularly inspected by the State of Georgia and “no violations of State law have ever been issued”. Does this have something to do Mayor Rehwaldt’s recent failed motion to support a new state resolution on tire storage?

Rumor has it that Mayor Rehwaldt's wife is the one who has complained about Tyrone business signs, causing the Code Enforcer to require "Box Car Cafe" & "This & That" to remove their signs. That doesn't sound like Charla to me but nothing surprises me about Tyrone anymore.

The Mayor’s wife has probably been misinformed by Valerie about the Sign Ordinance. The Sign Ordinance does not prohibit such signs. Only the Town’s MISUSE of the Ordinance prohibits the signs. The Code Enforcer misquoted the law and could not provide the specific regulations to these businesses. The Mayor and Council ignore their own violations but are Johnny on the spot to harass businesses over nothing. Later the government was happy to MAKE AN EXCEPTION on signs for This n That because her sign is for going out of business. Running off another business is just what they want!

she is KNOWN for complaining about alot of different stores not just a select few. Also, you must have never been in the dollar plus store. It is full of crap that is WAY OVER PRICED. It was some what misleading because you think.. this n that $1 plus.. it implies everything is about a dollar, but you go in and Nothing is a dollar.... It would have been better as a Dollar STORE. THOSE SEEM DO better. and tires.... do people really want to see a bunch of trashy tires laying harvesting mosquiotes and snakes around near a future beautiful family park??? I mean come on people...really.... lets keep TYrone Beautiful not Tireyone trashy! And you guys just need to lay off Barry and Valerie..... there are laws that the state and Federal government put in place for a reason... too bad you are hating because they are just following the laws of the land..... Welcome to America... I guess the new guys are in town pretty soon you will switch gears and go after them instead. So lets get on with it already!

Its easy to see why Tyrone’s government is like it is. The government panders to ignorance and uneducated people like you. Let’s see if I can unravel your statements and decipher what you said for the audience’s benefit.

“The mayor’s wife is known for complaining about a lot of different stores not just a select few”

PARAPHRASE: The Mayor’s wife goes around complaining about a lot of businesses in Tyrone. I don’t like This N That because I think $1 plus means $1 even.

“Those seem do better and tires”

PARAPHRASE: I did not go pass the 3rd grade and cannot express or separate my thoughts in compositional form.

“do people really want to see a bunch of trashy tires laying harvesting mosquiotes and snakes”.

PARAPHRASE: Due to my educational disability I do not know how to spell mosquito. I have trespassed on Wayne Adams Tire Store property and have actually seen that he is raising mosquitoes and snakes instead of selling tires.

“Lets keep Tyrone beautiful”

PARAPHRASE: If we run all of the businesses out of Tyrone, the Town will be beautiful. We will make up the tax loss by raising taxes on homeowners.

“Lay off Barry & Valerie”

PARAPHRASE: I prefer to have people running my government who violate Tyrone’s law. The 422 people who signed the get rid of Barry & Valerie petition should be ignored as not representative of the community.

“These are laws that the state and federal government put in place”

PARAPHRASE: I do not understand the State law regarding inspections of Tyrone Tire Co. I thought that Tyrone could enforce a non-existent municipal law against Wayne Adams.

“Too bad you are hating because they are just following the laws of the land”

PARAPHRASE: You don’t like the Tyrone government violating Municipal, State and Federal laws. You hate that these violations are causing businesses and their employees to lose their income, investments and their employees to be put out of a job.

“Welcome to America”

PARAPHRASE: Welcome to Tyrone, the anti-business town. I think that our government can pay high salaries to its employees and provide all services without a business tax base.

“New guys are in town and you will go after them”

PARAPHRASE: You supported and voted for a new Tyrone council who promised at the election forum to all citizens that they would repeal or change the destructive zoning ordinance. Now you are mad just because they lied to all the voters.

GENERAL PARAPHRASE: I, Sogreen, am an uneducated person, who does not care at all about his or her fellow citizens. I particularly dislike Sharon Foster, the owner of This N That because she is Black and I am a racist.

You just have too much time on your hands. So take some of that extra time that you are wasting complaining and go clean up the tires or go take a look in the crap for a $1 store or go teach an English class. Then we would not have to listen to your gibberish... I have lots of friends from different cultures and could really care less what color, race, gender, religion or whatever you use to discriminate. I do not know your color, race, gender or religion and quite honestly I do not like you! So now what does that make me?? Diverse I guess! Its is not the owner she is actually a very pleasant person. Again..another actually, I am sure I have more education then you ever aquired and a higher IQ then you can ever imagine. I just tend to focus on more concerning facts then the crap that you are unloading. Get over yourself and move on...are you even from Tyrone or another carpet bagger trying to take over...

I apologize for taking advantage of your ignorance. It is unfair for me with a BS in Education, MA in Psychology & Human Relations and a PhD to try to communicate with you on my level. On a Bell Curve, I would estimate your IQ to be approximately one standard deviation below the mean. No wonder what I have to say sounds like gibberish to you. However, you would fit in well as a member of Tyrone’s Planning Commission. Far from being a carpetbagger, my ancestors fought for the 46th Georgia Infantry during the Civil War. Now, I can’t take up anymore time with you. Is there anyone in Tyrone out there other than Boxwing, Tyrone Confidential, BeachBear and I Watch with the ability to comprehend facts and apply them in a logical and reasoned manner?

She gets a little evil about Valerie and Barry. She is Tyrone Confidential's biggest defender and anyone should look out. As much "education" as she says she has she still acts like a big bully.

I'm just curious. Usually, somebody with a MA in Psychology and a PhD (of some sort) expresses themselves a little differently than you do. For one thing, they don't usually blow smoke about their high IQ or their Civil War lineage.

But hey, just asking.

You wrote: "I did not go pass the 3rd grade ". OK, did you collect 200 dollars? Did you mean "I did not complete the third grade with passing grades" or "I did not go PAST the third grade"?

tough league, and labor intensive, since the spelling, grammer, and logic checks have to be done by other caring participants.

I am a unit of little brain, in case you haven't noticed.
