He rules the roost in chicken; now he turns to pizza, hot dogs in F’villeTue, 04/29/2008 - 3:27pm

The chicken king is now casting his sights on conquering a new dining world — pizza. This Thursday, Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy rolls out his newest restaurant concept, Upscale Pizza, in Fayetteville. The restaurant is located in the old McAllister’s Deli building on Ga. Highway 314. “Throughout my restaurant career, I’ve learned to take advantage of unexpected opportunities,” said Cathy. “My development of the chicken sandwich and my decision to open the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in a mall are two prime examples of that philosophy. So, when the opportunity arose to purchase the former McAllister’s Restaurant, I decided to open a family-friendly restaurant that also offers an upscale menu and style – resulting in the creation of Upscale Pizza,” said Cathy in a press release this week. The restaurant will feature a number of specialty and create-your-own pizzas, along with a variety of soups, sandwiches, salads and hot wings. Additionally, Upscale Pizza will offer the All-American Hot Dog that is served on a steamed bun with homemade chili, ketchup and mustard. The new restaurant is the only one planned, and will not offer any items from the regular Chick-fil-A menu. Regular business hours will be Monday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. The restaurant will be closed on Sundays. login to post comments |
