PBS, Bill Moyers and the Rev. Wright

"Finally, as regards the Rev. Wright's Africa-centric form of Christianity, this was Wright's explanation to his young church members as shown during the PBS interview:

"We wanted our stained-glass windows to tell the story of the centrality of Africans in the role of Christianity from its inception up until the present day. We play some interesting games educationally with the kids to help kids understand -- 'Can you name the seven continents?' As a kid, you learn that in school. All right, on what continent did everything in the Bible from Genesis to Malachi take place?"

And, of course, the Reverend and his church's answer is: Africa.

Now, as it happens, the Middle East is not Africa. It is Asia Minor, or Southwest Asia, if one must have an identifying continent. And Jesus was not black, nor were the apostles. It's all racial pride. And not true. Africa in the Bible is overwhelmingly Egypt, which was not black and not a moral model."

At least Denise does her research. Do you really believe that the people in the Middle East were 'white' at the time of the birth of Jesus? Do you understand that the inhabitants of Africa and the Middle East come in different colors? Do some studying. You have a right to your opinion - but that's all it is. . . based on your limited knowledge. Read the description of Jesus in the Bible. And Beaver . . so what!! The man called Jesus, the Christ, shared his love with all mankind. Does he have to be 'white' to receive our gratitude?

I don’t know of any Christian church that preaches what you seem to believe.

I never claimed that Jesus was white, and I resent the implication.

I suggest that you take a reading comprehension course that teaches you not to interpret everything in black and white.

You never did answer my question about being a Christian. Are you?

You crack me up acting as if someone's race has something to do with something. Laughing out loud

BLT is not church, it's a social gathering, some founder James Cone was I guess I will have to put him up again, he founded BLT. He is crazy to put Malcolm x in there someone who is not Christian in BLT belief. What is that all about.

Jesus was a Jew, he had olive color skin, not black, not white.

Proof Jesus was black:
1. He called everyone "brother"
2. He liked Gospel
3. He couldn't get a fair trial

I am still LMAO.

In retort, I submit the following as proof Jesus was white:

1) He couldn't jump (off the cross)
2) His mama was a virgin
3) He rose from the dead (everybody knows ghosts are white)

Meanwhile, I'm making a beeline to my storm shelter before I get struck by lightning.
