Incumbents qualify for state seatsMon, 04/28/2008 - 4:18pm

Six of Fayette's seven incumbent state legislators threw their hats in the political ring early on, qualifying for office by the end of Monday afternoon, according to the Georgia Secretary of State's web site. So far the only one not yet to qualify is Democrat Roberta Abdul-Salaam, whose District 74 seat extends from Riverdale where she lives down to an area north of Ga. Highway 54 that's also east of Ga. Highway 85. None of the qualifying incumbents has any challengers yet, but it's early, as qualifying ends Friday.
