The 3R's

I see from reading the paper that the quality of education is still falling. In the article on the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, the editors seemed to have made an "F" in spelling. May be they should include that "F" in the word "ShiFt in stead of what they wrote. I know the four letter alternative word that you used is in movies, books, and trashy magazines, but one would think that a member of the press, the "Fourth Estate", would have a capable editor checking the paper before it was published. A company that makes its money with the written word should at any rate.
Go read the article again on page C 14, third collum, last paragraph. Is there not an F missing in Shift making it and the paper look like the word that was printed.

You would think, wouldn't you?

I still haven't gotten over my own creation from the late 1980s: An "L" short in the very large headline that featured the word "PUBLIC."

By the way, in your own online critique posted for all the WorldWideWeb to see, you meant "column" instead of "collum," didn't you?

Your chastened so-called editor who promises to shift all resources to expand a short word to its proper length,

Cal
