Elliott will be the new rector at St. Andrew’sTue, 04/15/2008 - 2:21pm

The Right Rev. J. Neil Alexander, Episcopal Bishop of Atlanta, will celebrate a renewal of ministry with the welcome of a new rector for Saint Andrew’s in the Pines Episcopal Church in Peachtree City tomorrow. The Rev. Paul Courtright Elliott, interim pastor since March 2007, will become the permanent rector of Saint Andrew’s in a celebration to be held Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 316 North Peachtree Pkwy. in Peachtree City. A reception will follow in the parish hall. The community is invited. Elliott, a native of Huntsville, Ala., is a graduate of Birmingham Southern College, has a master of divinity from the General Theological Seminary in New York City, and is completing a doctorate in pastoral counseling at Emory University Candler School of Theology. Ordained as a priest in 1996, he has served as associate rector and chaplain to the school at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, Northeast Atlanta. While at St. Martin’s, and continuing his studies, Elliott served as a counselor at Care and Counseling Center of Georgia near the Emory campus. Elliott is married to the former Susan Farmer Langley. They have three children, Quincy Bassett, Elizabeth, and Kathryn. login to post comments |
