There is a book out there that was published in the 80's called "And the Walls Came Tumbling Down". It was written by Ralph Abernathy and does reveal some startling insights about King. And in the meantime, I'm just counting down until our government releases the FBI files on King in 2027.

Such nice words from a Cobb County commissioner. I wonder if she got a standing ovation. It's amazing how some politicians can spout off racist thoughts like this without any repurcussion. Where is Al Sharpton when you need him?

"I love my enemies. I pray every day with my enemies because I have to go up on the third floor and work with white women," she said in her Feb. 17 speech, which was captured on a video for sale at the 1,200-member church."

Cobb official offends some with comments at church

Notice the headline - she offends "some". She does not apologize for her racist comments. She gives the old liberal, tried and true "I am really sorry that my remarks offended some members of the church and hope that we as a community can continue to work together."

This isn't an apology for making racist, offensive remarks. She is just saying that she is sorry that people were offended.

If she thinks that working with white women is so terrible, then she should be relieved of her responsibilities by the Cobb County voters.

Which prominent Negro made the following comments about the US military's behavior abroad: "[W]e are criminals in that war. We've committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world." He also once called the United States "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today" and condemned it for creating "concentration camps."

Was it:
A) Reverend Louis Farrakhan
B) Thomas Sowell
C) Reverend Jeremiah Wright
D) Reverend Jesse Jackson
E) Grubby Herman Cain
F) Bill Cosby
G) Reverend Martin Luther King Jr
H) Fredrick Douglass

MLK, and I'd argue that not only was he wrong, but he was ignorant and biased on that subject and only saw it from one narrow point of view.

I may be just an old dirt Fayette farmer, but what's the point here?

None of these guys are running for office and only two are potential advisers for anyone who is running.

I do like what the Cosby guys says.

I see that you edited your post to include one of my personal heroes, the very successful and charming Herman Cain.

Let me guess....

Was it the man who said, "I am a Republican, a black, dyed in the wool Republican, and I never intend to belong to any other party than the party of freedom and progress"? The one who said, "I recognize the Republican party as the sheet anchor of the colored man's political hopes and the ark of his safety"? The one who said, "People might not get all they work for in this world, but they must certainly work for all they get"?

No, it couldn't be Frederick.

Was he someone who heavily influenced James Cone's Black Liberation "Theology"? Was he someone who U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy (Dem) authorized the FBI to wiretap his phones because one of his most trusted advisers was involved with the Communist Party? One who revealed his Marxist sympathies when he said that the U.S. was "on the wrong side of a world revolution." One who President Johnson (Dem) said was a “hypocrite preacher” because of his numerous adulterous relationships? One who Ralph David Abernathy called a "womanizer"? One who advocated for the "reconstruction of society itself," democratic socialism (a term with which some communist parties have renamed themselves and Gorbachev used for his “reformed” communism)?

It's definitely NOT that gentleman Herman Cain!

“There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” ~ Booker T. Washington

Fine words from a man that never made one trip to Vietnam nor spent one day in military service to his country.

Maybe he got his info from John Kerry.

I suppose that qualified him as an expert on the subject?
