Attention landlords and property managers!

In light of SB458 and Clayton's problems, there will be an influx of Clayton residents seeking rental properties to get their kids in our schools. Please keep a high standard when going through the applications. Keep an eye on the properties. This could become an issue of crime increase, and even overcrowding of multiple families in single family dwellings to get their kids in our schools. Which could lead to health hazards.

encouraging the use of discriminatory housing practices against people based on race, religion, number of kids they choose to raise, etc. Holy smokes! How desperate can you be? What are you encouraging? Don't rent to people who are well qualified if they come from a Clayton Co. address? Do you think property owners are idiots who don't evaluate their potential clients? You are just succeeding in reinforcing every negative stereotype the rest of the country has about us. You don't speak for me. Not at all; never....ever...nuh uhh...Kevin "Hack" King

Well qualified applicants are not the problem. There are a large number of homes for sale or rent in our county. I want a large applicant base of intelligent community minded people. I have no issues with minorities in our community, in fact we need a larger diversity. My issue is that I want residents who are willing to sacrifice for their children, who have values, and are involved with their children. Children that realize the sacrifice their parents must make to give them a decent life, and in turn behave in and out of school. Law abiding future residents.

I think that if we're getting the people from Clayton county who are willing to pick up and move to get their kids into a better school, we're probably getting the best of the bunch. I feel sorry for the poor bastages who are left behind - especially the kids.

Maximus is right, if a parent or parents decide to give up their home, pay the expense of relocating, and accepts paying much higher property taxes and mortages, these are the kind of people you want living in your county. They will sacrifice for their child's safety and education.
