Are you complaining that it is too much or that it is not the $1 per gallon increase from the FairTax?

Perhaps "Git" is questioning the fact that this Democratic Congressman wishes to increase taxes but yet, according to his bio, he wants to fight for working families that keep America's economy going. I'm trying to imagine just how a .50 gallon tax is going to help "working families".

But I can explain about the 50 cent a gallon tax helping the working families. You see it’s like this: you’ve got your gas and you tax it and then you’ve got your working family and then you’ve got your helping. I hope that clears it up for you.
