I read the comments of the right wing to see if they might have something to say that makes sense and also to "keep up" with what you guys are thinking. But when I clicked the link and saw it was written by Ann Coulter I just had to laugh. Surely you can find a better spokesperson for your side.

I had to laugh at a "liberal" friend of mine the other day when she said if McClain picked Huckabee as Vice-President and was elected then she was moving to Australia. I'm guessing many of you right wingers are thinking of moving too when President Obama is sworn in in 2009.

I wish that everyone who ever swears up and down they are moving because of politics like Alec Baldwin or several huge whiners on these very blogs would indeed follow through on that threat. You wouldn't be missed at all.

I don't think too many people will be moving in regards to Obama because I don't see him getting elected. His poll numbers are dropping rapidly as the scrutiny from the media and others has intensified, and even though he has the nomination wrapped-up statistically barring some miracle, the Clintons will fight it all the way through to the convention and aren't afraid to use every dirty trick in their substantial arsenal.

Add the above in and the fact that there are a lot more bigoted people in the USA who won't vote for a black man to be president-regardless of what they publicly claim to pollsters and others-and I don't see a Pres. Obama happening. No matter how poorly the Repubs have been or will be.....the Dems seem to be masters of self-sabotage.

DON'T TASE ME, BRO!!!

Hey. Practice makes perfect!

Proposition P was uttered by source S.
Therefore, proposition P is not believable.

This is known as the genetic fallacy.

Given "Source S" in this case has a lengthy demonstrable history of half-truths, distortion and outright falsehoods, we should still accept "Propostion P" at face value?

I think not.

"Consider the source" would be considered at prudent course of action.

IF you are correct that she is always a source of "of half-truths, distortion and outright falsehoods..." then it should be quick and easy to point out the untruth(s) in the article and win the argument??

The above always scores more points in a formal debate than just saying the source is bad.

This is the way to blog!

Howdy, Paul! I'd like to ask you to please not put words in my mouth....that's the Vulgarian's job around here.

I did not state that Coulter "always" lied....I said she had a "demonstrable history" of being less than honest (sorta like the current White House occupant).

You've asked me to deconstruct an editorial....how do you deconstruct an opinion? For example, Coulter correctly references the Bakke Supreme Court decision. No problem there! But she then opines that the Bakke decision institutionalized racism against white folks. I happen to disagree with her characterization of that opinion. Is my opinion any more valuable than hers?

The thing is, there is a certain subset of people here, most notably (but not exclusively) the racist bigot beaver who have trouble distinguishing between fact and opinion.

So to summarize:

1. Got an opinion? fine with me! (I may, ahem, disagree with it...that's why BPR thinks I'm not a Christian!)

2. Lack the ability to articulate your own opinion and rely on the opinion of others to make your point? Well, if that's all you got, don't expect me to value you intellect if you don't value it yourself!

3. Present somebody else's opinion as a "fact" in support of your argument? Now, you see, I have a problem with this...and I suspect this is the underlying cause of the Vulgarian's animosity towards me!

Don't say things I have not said. I know that only you and God knows if you are a Christian! You are the one who told us who the real Christians are- wasn't that a little judging? I think that's God's job. He's the only one that sees our heart.

Just because I disagree with you has nothing to do with if you are a Christian or not. I just asked you to show me where SBC is racist, and you have not done it- so get to work- (hint) you won't find it on those sites because we are not racist.

Now, was that fun? You enjoy doing things like that - it goes on all day long. Really, you have alot to be happy for.

Listen and enjoy! It's time to celebrate!

Now, you should be thankful and happy. Hey, if you don't have a church home we will pick you up and you can come to church with us.

Have a nice day and "Happy Easter" Sniffles

A great weekend to you and your family, too. Christ's resurrection makes the deaths of our loved ones a little less sad. He gives real hope. Smiling

I remember that this is a sad time for you. Remember the good times through the tears. "He is risen!"

Didn't mean to bring the tears, but they happen, don't they? Even years later. There will always be an empty space, but the pain does lessen, at least a little bit. Smiling

Your a kind soul,- and I thank you for it- you also reminded me it's not the end.Smiling It is the hardest thing I have gone through- God is faithful and good.

I could never thank Him more than at Easter for providing a way - I am thankful I grew up in a home that taught me that. I don't know what people do that don't know Him when you loose someone both my sister and mom, my sister in Nov. and my mom at the end of this month.

My husband the kind soul he is always gives me flowers on those days.Smiling I have alot to be thankful for.

Thanks again.Smiling

I did notice that you never said you always disagreed with Ann or that she always lied. Alas, it was after I had clicked the post button. I'll give you that one.

This does give me hope. If you agree with some of Ann's writing perhaps we have some common ground after all.

Her works that deal with history, particularity, the Alger Hiss parts, I have found to be accurate and well written.

Proving anyone can mistype a post, I'll take it that (given our new spirit of civility) you meant to reflect the fact that Denise was the class Valedictorian instead of typo in your post.

That is what you meant--wasn't it??

This is the way to blog!
