Bill is foxing them agin!

A combine of Hillary and Barack would be an unbeatable President/Vice-President combination according to Bill.

This puts the pressure on Barack to accept the deal and be a sure-fire VP now, and President in 8 years.

Also, it scares the black voters into voting for Hillary for a sure thing in the long run, Barack in 2017! If it goes to convention, anything can happen!

And I might add, it might also work for Hillary as number 2!

He is a smart dude.

Obama did not point to particular statements by his pastor,

If I were running for president and this clown was reputed to be my spiritual leader, I'd stand up in front of the cameras and state that "Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a hate monger and that he is also Trucking Nuts! THAT would settle it.

Well, it's off to Home Depot.

Many Republicans welcome the opportunity to beat them both at the same time in the fall. HRC at the top of the ticket is a sure loser. Look at the poll numbers (not that I take too much stock in them). HRC's negatives are so huge, I hope she steals the nomination from Obama.

The only thing that could turn this election for the Dems is a deep recession, which would cause voters to vote based on personal economic considerations. That's why the MSM is already using the terms "recession" and "depression".

Aren't you proud to part of a party who actually hopes for defeat in Iraq and a miserable economy just so the Democrats can take power?

Congratulations, you've sunk to a new low. But I'm sure you will find new ways to sink lower.

"Most Economists Say Recession Has Arrived as Outlook Darkens
by Phil Izzo
Thursday, March 13, 2008provided byWSJ

The U.S. has finally slid into recession, according to the majority of economists in the latest Wall Street Journal economic-forecasting survey, a view that was reinforced by new data showing a sharp drop in retail sales last month.

"The evidence is now beyond a reasonable doubt," said Scott Anderson of Wells Fargo & Co., who was among the 71% of 51 respondents to say that the economy is now in a recession. the MSM is already using the terms "recession" and "depression"."

I truly believe that if conservatives continue to play CYA on the economy, the Wars in the Middle East, and the general State of our government, people in general will stop giving credibility to your message; that includes Global Climate Change, which even the Baptist Convention's leadership is accepting.

Baptists: No Change On Climate Change

If we're projected to have a 1% growth rate in 08, how does that put us in a recession?

Yup, we're certainly going through a much needed market correction. Yet, I hardly think the world is coming to an end. Puzzled

Legit question folks: Here we are turning a tremendous amount of our food stocks into fuel to burn in our automobiles. Our cattle industry is dumping beef on the market because they can't afford to compete each of us chooses to burn ethanol rather than invest the grains in our food supply. With that said.... next year we are going to see a spike in meat, dairy and poultry prices. At what point do we stop burning our food supplies in our vehicles and start tapping ANWR along with the oil rich California and Florida offshore fields that the Democrats consistently block access to? Does our government want us to fail as a nation?

First the Global Warming side:

This is straight from your source document related to the Baptist call to action on Climate Change:

"While not being an official document of the SBC the latest statement was signed by several high-profile Southern Baptist leaders including Merritt's father, James Merritt, a pastor and former president of the Southern Baptist Convention. In addition, the current president of the Southern Baptist Convention, Frank Page, endorsed the document as well as Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, who was also a former president of the SBC."

This sounds like yet another organization that is moving towards the realization that good stewardship of The Earth includes being PROACTIVE in addressing potential problems. The ultra conservative movement, I believe, won't admit Climate Change is a problem we can abate until it is too late to counter it. I want to be part of the solution Git; that's all. NASA, that organization that makes our GPSs work and gives us the cool weather satellite images, is on board with the theory that climate change is real and man has an impact on it. I believe there is more potential harm in ignoring this problem to protect oil company profits than in addressing the problem all while reducing pollutants. I just don't know what you expect to accomplish on your side of this issue.

Should we cut off our catalytic converters? Use more coal? I just don't understand the end result you seek.

As far as the economy goes: Two questions

1) Are most Americans better off now as opposed to under the previous Republican legislature and Democratic executive's economic policies?

2) Would you say the current administration's economic policies have been successful?

My answers: Not hardly and not on any level.

Cheers,

so to speak.

"At what point do we stop burning our food supplies in our vehicles and start tapping ANWR along with the oil rich California and Florida offshore fields that the Democrats consistently block access to?"

When we went after Florida's offshore bounty, Jeb Bush himself was vehemently opposed to drilling or placing wind mills off of Florida's coast. "Not in my back yard" is the common cry. I don't think ANWR's paltry stores is going to solve the problem. In my opinion, replacing the middle east drug with one we can produce/ harness is.

Jeb Bush himself was vehemently opposed to drilling or placing wind mills off of Florida's coast.

That's because he's a chicken uhhh... you know. He was voicing an opinion that was politically expediante at that moment. This country's future is bigger than Jeb's politcal ambitions.

"Not in my back yard"

In Oklahoma they are drilling like crazy. The new oil technologies utilized in discovering and recovering natual gas and oil reserves have taken what was once thought of as dead or unproductive fields and made them into major producers. The environmental footprints and the drilling practices are practically nil these days. It's time to tell the diaper wearing doomsday tree huggers to bite it.

I've got the oilfields in my backyard in OK and I'm proud to be a beneficiary of them. They produce massive amounts of tax revenue. The oil companies have paid big buck in our area to upgrade the power grid systems to supply the recovery process, improve, gravel, and sometimes pave the dirt roads that are shared by the farmers and residents. The job market, (for anyone who wants to work in that field is tremendous and it pays very good. There are so many positive collateral benefits taking place with that industry right now; so many that it sickens me to see us not tap ANWR, Florida, California, the massive oil producing shale fields in Colorado that production was banned in during the 90's and set aside as a freaking United Nations Evironmental Set-Aside.

I don't think ANWR's paltry stores is going to solve the problem

Paltry? Please Hack. It's a tremendous reserve that doesn't solve our energy issues, yet it helps solidify our energy foundation.

In my opinion, replacing the middle east drug with one we can produce/ harness is.

I agree. But, until that time when those technologies become practical and wide spread, our drug is necessary for our very survival. As soon as our future energy alternatives become viable and productive, then we can start phasing out our use of petro based fuels.

And how is this going to take place when idiots like Jeb Bush and Ted Kennedy fight the use of wind power to generate energy for themselves and their constituents?

Screw the 'not in my backyard' crowd. It reminds me of when our former commissioner Greg Dunn joined the South Fulton Democrats in opposing the electrical generating plant that was going to be fueled by clean burning natural gas ,of all things. They fought it claiming the pollution risks were unacceptable. Can you say Grey Davis? Or was that Grey Dunn? Another idiotic 'not in my backyard' example.

Git, It's not dems. It's whover's backyard is being drilled

It's not the Dems blocking domestic oil exploration? Oh please. That's like claiming infants aren't the ones pooping their diapers.

After many months away I come back to find you, Git, Muddle, BPR, Jeffc, etc. still in spirited debate, and Basmati still getting pummeled by Denise.

Is that really you in the video Denise linked? You look pretty good, but I think MOAB has a big reach advantage, not conducive to your stand-up. Try some lower kicks, and use the left every once in a while. You’re telegraphing the right kick to the thigh which makes it easy for him to grab – usually a no-no. Be ready for his high left kick and duck and counter with a right straight to the gut. (I’m just pulling all this out my ace if you hadn’t noticed.)

As for the current administration’s energy policy I have only a few words – pathetic, non-existent, kowtowing, obscenely wasteful, and, well, liberal-like. The only worse policy “ideas” that anyone could think of are coming from the dems.

And I love how the new environmentalist leftist debate has turned from “global warming” to “climate change”. I guess that might have something to do with the whole warming theory being completely blown out of the (frozen) water. They know that they can keep crying about change because the climate has been changing for millions of years and will continue to do so. The problem is that we couldn’t control it if we wanted to. Keeping our environment clean and our standard of living high is the objective.

Wasteful and punitive government “energy” programs like ethanol and windfall taxes on American oil companies are not the answer. The free market is – give us a lot of energy that increases our standard of living when weighed against the costs, and we will give you a lot of money. Open ANWR, the Green River Valley, the Gulf and Pacific offshore. And of course more nuclear. There’s enough there to supply us for centuries.

ANWR was not opened up from 1996 to 2006 when republicans controlled the legislature.

And we weren't in the situation we're finding ourselves in now. The R's have been trying to drill ANWR and the others I mentioned for quite a while now to no avail. Recently, as the urgency for new exploration has surfaced and the need became more apparent, it was your brethern that blocked tapping ANWR. But, if it makes you feel good go ahead and blame the Georges and Jeb.

Cheers, and can a brother Git some mineral rights? I'll work for 'em.....

I wish I had them under my farm. Those things were bought up years ago when they were practically worthless. Now.... Shocked

You can't hardly buy them anymore. Thankfully my dad retains the rights under the homestead 160 that my family has had since the land run days. But, fret not. Your guys are going to kill the inheritance tax breaks that family farmers have been blessed with in recent years. The same breaks that are allowing the family farmers to remain in business after passing down these properties without having to sell them off to pay the previous inheritance taxes such as was the case pre-Bush tax breaks. Guess you'll get your way and when Pops passes I'll sell the farm for our gumament so our politicos can satisfy their thirst for blood.

Now for that good news. The next Black Gold Rush is under way. It's taking place in North Dakota. It is expected that it will produce a "paltry" 100 billion barrels of oil. That's twice the size of Alaska's reserves and enough to meet our needs for the next 20 years. Hopefully that will buy us a bit more time to perfect those other energy sources.

Now for the bad news.... The oil won't start flowing for another 5 years. Sad

I didn't say that I held the title on those MRs. Fortunately my Dad is getting a handsome retirement subsidy from the proceeds of the rights that he owns.

What I did fail to mention is that these tremendous reserves in ND are lodged in rock very deep down and it is expensive to extract the oil. With the price of oil where it has been, it seems that the investment will now pay off to invest the billions in implementing the technology to tap into reserves.

Between ND, ANWR, Florida, the Pacific Coast, we could put a severe dent in our dependence on those that hate us and their much needed oil. Wouldn't it feel great as a nation to kick that sand back into their own eyes? Smiling

There isn’t a “not in my backyard” mentality in Alaska either. Gov. Palin might be a good VP choice for McCain. She won’t be kowtowing to the environmentalist whackos and the AARP like Jeb did. Floridians shouldn’t have any more say in the matter than we do.

It’s estimated that the recoverable oil resource in the oil shale deposits of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming are triple the known oil reserves of Saudi Arabia. Yet here we are wasting massive amounts of money and energy turning corn into a substandard fuel. Nothing but a big sop for the farmers.

Two terms of the current administration, borrowing trillions and allowing banks and wall street to destroy is is to blame. People are going to buy free homes if they can--the banks' foreclosure of them when the interest rate shot up extremely high is the cause.

We could still be in Viet Nam, "trying to win," but the people stopped it, finally. They will again. At least one Admiral this week had the guts to say so, and resign. Thank goodness for one! First one since MacArthur!

Admiral Fallon did appear to have an animosity towards his showboating subordinate, General Betray-us. He questioned Gen. Betray-us impartiality and judgment (remember, Betray-us would only accept questions from Fox News after his report to Congress). I would agree with Fallon's description of Betray-us as a "Hobbes"-kissing little Chicken"Conner". (Use your own imagination folks).

If you think that we are going to send ground troops into Iraq, you are stupider than you appear, Trax (and that's saying something). Our Army and marines are tied up in Iraq and Afghanistan, we cannot spare the ground troop manpower to go off adventuring in Iran. Nope, we'll be using the Navy and the Air Force to deliver the destruction, after all, they're just standing around now, right?

Fallon did the right thing is resigning in protest when he disagreed with the Decider's decision to start just one more war before the election. Senior military commanders resigning in protest has been an honorable way out in our country's history, your pathetic attempts to slime a good man notwithstanding.

Since you put my name in your smutty post but failed to cite the source, here it is. I doubt that any of us have cultivated as perverted an imagination as Banned Basmati. (How long before Sniffy Bas falls off the wagon? Puzzled)

"U.S.-IRAQ: Fallon Derided Petraeus, Opposed the Surge"

Fallon about Gen. Petraeus [a Vietnam vet who received a unanimous confirmation from the Senate (81-0)]: "I hate people like that."

I can see that you have at least two things in common with Fallon and MoveOn.org (George Soros), the same Democrat organization that "allowed an outrageous and highly offensive political ad that directly compared President George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler to be posted on its Web site."

"MoveOn, after its rather guerrilla start, has increasingly become part of the Democratic establishment in Washington. It has donated money [millions] and lent its Washington director, Thomas Mattzie, to a coalition of liberal groups with major funding from wealthy donors that organizes in an office on K Street to promote opposition to the war."

[In the 2006 election, didn't Dems criticize Republicans for lobbyists' influence and corruption? Didn't Pelosi promise "to break the link between lobbyists and legislation" in Washington and to end the "Republican reign of pork-barrel spending sprees" (although Sen. Clinton and Schumer won the 2005 "Porker of the Year" prize from Citizens Against Government Waste)? Is this the "change" that Obama is always talking about? Puzzled ]

"The group's conference calls often include aides to House and Senate Democratic leaders, and executive director Eli Pariser ["The facts all point in one direction — the surge isn't working."] and Mattzie have also had meetings with some of the party's 2008 presidential candidates, although MoveOn is not likely to endorse in the primary process. [Obama received its endorsement on 2/1/08.] Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) and former vice president Al Gore have spoken at MoveOn events."

[I'd guess that when MoveOn speaks, Obama says, "How high?"]

Maybe this is the "change" Obama should be talking about:

"Surge Success Charts Media Won't Dare Show You"

"Senior Official: 2008 Crucial to Surge Success"

"Thirteen months later, 'although there’s much work to be done, the military surge is clearly working,' said [retired Brig. Gen. Mark] Kimmitt, who previously was the senior military spokesman in Iraq."

"The West Is Winning in Iraq"

"Even the BBC reported in January that Al-Qaeda in Iraq had been 'reduced by 75 percent.'"

"The improved security has brought with it a renewed sense of economic confidence and stability. Iraq today has more than 40,000 registered businesses, a 500 percent increase since the dark days of Saddam Hussein’s rule. Crude oil production now exceeds pre-war levels, at 2.2 million barrels a day, and economic growth is expected to rise to 7 percent in 2008 and 8 percent in 2009."

"The U.S. and UK are great warrior nations that have done more to advance the cause of liberty than anyone. [Remember WWII?] The two have liberated over 50 million people from tyranny in Iraq and Afghanistan, a monumental achievement of which we should be proud." Smiling

_______________________

No wonder you're in such a foul mood, Sniffy. Laughing out loud

"Support for War Effort Highest Since 2006"

"The percentage of those who believe the war in Iraq is going 'very well' or 'fairly well' is also up, from 30 percent in February 2007 to 48 percent today."

"[53%] now believe 'the U.S. will ultimately succeed in achieving its goals' in Iraq."

BUT "Seven in 10 [70%] Democrats continue to believe the war in Iraq is going poorly." Puzzled

"Democrats’ resolute support for the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces may soon position them at odds with independent voters, in particular, a constituency they need to retake the White House."

"'The surge has resulted in a reduction of violence. That’s indisputable,' said a top Obama foreign policy adviser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity."

"Almost half of registered voters now believe it is 'very likely' that McCain would be an 'effective commander in chief,' according to CBS polling. Less than one-quarter said the same of Obama and Clinton."

"In addition, CBS found that a clear majority of Americans were 'confident' that McCain could 'handle an international crisis' — 56 percent said so for McCain, 47 percent for Obama and only 39 percent for Clinton."

I guess Hillary’s 3 A.M. phone ad wasn’t as effective as she hoped.

Our current Sheriff has not officially retired yet, until he does even Wayne Hannah and Barry Babb don't stand a chance. We are enjoying the fruits of their hard work in law enforcement.

Like you, his being from Detroit (big city corruption) makes me a little hesitant. Probably lots of people are nervous about the change, for better or worse. I like Randall and our county's low crime, but there is room for improvements in the dept. And Hannah and Babb aren't Randall; so, I doubt that the status quo will remain. That's all I'll say on here.

Actually, I did miss you, Denise.

You seem to have had quite an ordeal this week! Glad you are okay and that there was no lasting physical damage! I tried to send you flowers in the hospital...weren't you a tad over-reactive in calling in the bomb squad?

Anyhow, let's see what 10 column inches of cut and paste have in store for me today...hmmmm....

Ah, yes, you see Denise, you've exposed a fundamental difference between us (besides the fact that I base my opinions on facts, and you base your "facts" on opinions, of course). You treat every one of our exchanges as a win/lose proposition. I'm quite content to state my case and let other readers decide who has the more compelling argument. If I can do so and make you look foolish and/or ignorant in the process, well, that's just icing on the cake.

I notice you've begun once again to state your position and then immediately declare "victory". I find that amusing.

I'm glad you have a multitude of anonymous "friends" who back you up and encourage you here. May I ask if these are "real life" friends or simply more voices in your head that only you can hear? Hmmm?

Continuing on...hmm, you don't approve of the fact that I don't approve of General Betray-us, so you, uh, bring up moveon.org and George Soros for the umpteenth time. How tiresome.

Let's see, yada, yada, awww, you don't like being called a chicken. I feel your pain, my little love dumpling! But as Jeff and Hack and I all have told you, time and again, eventually you'll have to stand up on your own chubby little legs and state for the record just what it is you believe in.

Sure, it's nice and comfy hiding behind cut-n-pastes of people who are more articulate than you....not to mention that it gives you "deniability" when you get called on the carpet! (i.e. when you called Hack's brother a "wharf rat"!) But it does tend to brand you as a dilletante incapable of all but the shallowest thinking.

On a final note, I'm glad you think "the surge is working". Since the surge has "succeeded", when are all the troops coming home?

Take good care this weekend and try to remember to take the Luvox and Zoloft and Xanax on the schedule your doctor recommended.

Kisses,
Sniff

You're copying Cyclist's posts now? He already posted
"Seated on a toilet..... for two years!!!!"
on Wed. Is this your idea of "original thought"? Laughing out loud

Then you attempt to sound like Hack ("my little love dumpling" & "Kisses"). GAG!!!!! Ask him for lessons... and fighting tips--- before you meet Git. But I wouldn't use any of that talk on him, if you know what's good for you! Laughing out loud

"when you called Hack's brother a 'wharf rat'"

I guess this an example of your basing your opinions on facts? Puzzled

This is a repeat of your 03/04/2008 perversion of the truth. You're deliberately distorting (to be tactful – GO HERE for help) my post Thomas Sowell's Common Sense (11/10/07).

"That bum sitting on a heating grate, smelling like a wharf rat?"

Where did I or the person that I quoted mention Hack, his brother, or a vet?

Simile: A figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by like or as, as in "smelling like a wharf rat."

Sniff… Sniff… What does a wharf rat smell like? Puzzled

I was recently reading about the history of charity and welfare in America and recall that an administrator in the 1840s called a person unwilling to work but who expected others to support him a BUM. (They didn't have to worry about the P.C. Police back then.)

$niff, you shouldn't be offering $$$$'s meds (fluvoxamine, or Luvox) to others.

Your impersonation of a doctor is even worse than your attempt to mimic Hack.
Feeling crabby?

is the way Denise always slips away when the discussion gets down to factual information that she cannot refute with invective and opinion. Only to appear later as if the entire thing never happened. Keep the faith.

Not much. You libs whine if I'm on and whine if I'm off. You don't want to read my posts, but you do and then whine. Isn't it time for your nap?

Where's your "factual information" to back up "Denise always slips away," i.e, be productive instead of being a "community organizer"?

Maybe if we get more rain, you'll have more yards to cut and can "slip away," too.

"Only to appear later as if the entire thing never happened." Puzzled

$$$$, I thought you were going away for a while.

Bye! I'll read your "nasty" (to quote Mainly Extreme) comments much later. I have more important things to do.

because one does write this.

Umm, Denise. No, I don't whine when you're off, and I usually physically can't read your posts.

The Golden Rule- Does that mean that: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

So, if parents had an abortion and that baby was you that would be okay?

What they call a fetus somehow we become humans and live -huh?

Talking to troops via teleconference to Afghanistan yesterday, the President told them that he thought the experience of serving in Afghanistan was romantic. President Bush said,

"It must be exciting for you.. in some ways romantic, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks."

To quote Jim Morin, veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom,

" I didn't feel like there was anything romantic in not seeing my daughter grow up, in watching Afghan children starve to death, in explaining repeated deployment extensions to my soldiers. No, Mr. President, there's nothing romantic about being sent on an important mission and not being given the tools to accomplish it."

BPR, do you feel our President is in touch with the lives of the 500,000+ U.S. troops involved in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Name me one president that was in touch with his troops in, say, the last 50 or 60 years. The man's an idiot but not really more then any of the others we've had, well, maybe some, OK a bunch but by the time these people are presidents they have no clue what it's like.

I won't answer those questions on here- I have lived and learned.

I do have my list and in person I will answer your questions and question on this.

I still don't feel any different than I did before about "President George W. Bush. I still think "President George W. Bush is the best President ever, yes there are a line of favorites I have "President Reagan would be my second, I will stop there.

Who is your favorite?

It's a matter of opinion and why we have that opinion- I love living in this country- I am blessed to be here.

I do THANK all service Men and Women that have served our country now in the past and in the future and have given their lives. I will continue to do that.

Do I know some people in the military serving now, yes I do- they give me a different answer than you. People differ on things.

So, THANK YOU Hack!

In a few week, we have a school program with songs -you don't think I tear up- I am proud to teach these little guys and gals this song, wish you could be there, what passion they give it- well we taught them how important it is to have our freedom. RED WHITE AND BLUE NIGHT.

BTW if Pastors can't endorse candidates I don't think celebrities should be able to endorse candidates also-

I have said before- I don't endorse McCain- I don't have a problem with that, nor Hillary- I will vote that is my right.

I'M Proud To Be An American!

It’s nice to see that we have some freedom loving, pro-Americans teaching our ‘utes. Too many want to ignore, or not take the time to learn, history. Or worse, revise it to make the U.S. out to be the bad guys. While not perfect, without the United States there would be no freedom anywhere in the world.

Now, I’m off to see Independence Hall – again. The weather’s great in Philadelphia.

Barak dissed the idea of him being VP to the queen of mean and did so big time. I believe he said something like "How does the #2 person ask the #1 person to be VP?" Good question - who does she think she is?

Submitted by sageadvice on Mon, 03/10/2008 - 7:04pm.

Yes, he said that, and also said: "I'm not running for VP, just President." That doesn't sound as firm as saying I'm not ever going to be Hillary's VP---don't want the job.

Anyway, no one is running for VP now! No one has filed yet!

As to who is ahead now by about a hundred delegates, do you remember when the republicans and the media wrote off Senator McCain last fall?

If Barack came to the conclusion that he may lose, you can bet he would love to be her running mate in order to position him for President. It won't happen!
