Must be human nature!

I don't think what I am about to point out is a fatal flaw, but it does indicate that Mr. Obama is not the perfect candidate.

Mr. and Mrs. Obama bought a home worth several million dollars, yet she said the she was still paying back her student loans of what must have been borrowed 20-24 years ago!

No bank carries those loans that long.

She could have meant that she paid off the original loan but kept refinancing them, or she could have meant "many things!"

Seems trust of people in public "service" has melted away!

I guess I'm in good company then (Mrs. Obama). It's been 20 years for me too! I'm still in-debted to Sallie Mae.

The Obama's also sold a book recently for several million dollars.
I know if I had owed a debt for so many years on my education costs, I would have paid it off immediately!

In fact, I would have lived in a lesser house or spent less on education to start with. You see what this type of living has finally done to us?

I would venture to say that Mrs. Obama borrowed all she could get while in school, lived it up while there, while at the same time having most of her expenses paid by scholarship , grants, and even getting accepted by affirmative action!

The worst thing about all this is the greed.

Now Hillary and Bill aren't innocent either of course, and John got most of his from a Coors beer distributorship heiress!

These are what we attract for our leaders, unfortunately.

Politics is so dirty, that we end up with candidates who compromise all that is necessary to win, or pay friends back once elected.

We are also willing to send our great young country down the tubes gradually, just for our own personal greed.

I know a lot of people that did that. Not me, I went with tuition only (once I borrowed enough for books)...undergrad and masters were paid within 5 years and thanks to the HOPE people and critical needs areas...I was able to "work off" my specialist degree. Now if I could be more like cyclist and get the house and truck paid. I'll probably die in debt.

automobiles, is I keep them forever. My old truck is the one I bought new in 1984. It's good enough to get my fat tush, and I mean fat , around town and work. My newest is a 2001 Expedition and it has been paid off for about 2 years. (Of course, that's what Mrs. Cy drives)

The house; well just get a 15 year note and pay bi-monthly. That shaves about 3 years off.

Mine are paid off along with the house, cars, bikes and credit cards. But you know what, I still have a problem saving money. Now my oldest is getting ready for college and the youngest is just 2 years away. Oh yeah, I need a new roof and gutters. ugh!!!!

There always seems to be something more important, or fun, to spend money on, so Sallie Mae usually takes the backseat - poor girl. I listen to Dave Ramsey during the drive home sometimes and he's convinced me to get serious and pay her off, hopefully by years end.

Oh... when you're ready, you've got an open invitation to ride with the husband out to Horton. He said 'anytime.'

I've tried to listen to his show but, but it's just not entertaining. I wish the "Kimmer" was still on. At least he was not as stuffy as "Rush".

I appreciate the invite.
