Obama's Patriot Corporation Act-This guy is scary!

samtheman's picture

As a small business owner, a President Obama is a scary thought.

His own web site contains his version of a "Patriot" act.

The provisions require that I:

* Invest in American jobs, by maintaining or increasing the number of full-time workers in America relative to the number of full-time workers outside of America AND by maintaining corporate headquarters in America if the company has ever been headquartered in America.

* Pay decent wages, by paying each worker an hourly wage that would ensure that a full-time worker would earn enough to keep a family of three out of poverty (at least $ 7.80 per hour).

* Prepare workers for retirement, by providing either a defined benefit plan OR a defined contribution plan that fully matches at least 5% of worker contributions for every employee.

* Provide health insurance, by paying at least 60% of each worker’s health care premiums.

* Support the troops, by paying the difference between regular salary and military salary for all National Guard and Reserve employees who are called for active duty AND by continuing their health insurance coverage for the Guard member and his or her family.

This man needs to understand that I'm in an industry that it struggling to stay alive in this economy.

That said,I would gladly keep a serviceman's job open even though it would cost me dearly without the job's revenue and, in the case of 2-3 of these "paying the difference between his salary and the military pay" it would mean closing my business and putting everyone out of work.

What about my freedom to contract with my employees for the best wage I can afford to pay.

I'd love to provide their health insurance and someday hope to do so, but to do so now would break the business.

Guess I'm just not the type Barack considers worthy to have government permission to exist.

BTW---I do understand the proposed bill is for a tax credit, but how long would it take to add a line that adds a surtax for those little guys who can't afford to comply?

I hear/read all the time lately how, if Obama is elected business will head out of town {read-out of the country} and I got to think that there is someone somewhere trying to pull the wool over our eyes {go figure}. I mean, how is that any different than what is happening under the last two administrations? I don't think that you can hang that on Obama based on conjecture, when the economy is IN THE TANK already.

Take the Ford Motor Company {a good AMERICAN company}. I remember a few years back that they said that the Taurus was no longer a viable option and they phased it out, closing the Hapeville plant. That was not all that long ago. Now Ford Motor Company {a good AMERICAN company} has reconsidered their decision and have decided that the Taurus actually IS a viable option and are going to be making them again in Mexico. How many good AMERICAN companies are making their money producing products overseas?

Yes, it is the global economy, but it is time for us to figure out what we bring to the table in the global economy and start concentrating on that. Oh, those pesky Chinese...they only hold a lot of the country's debt now and bound to hold more, IF they decide to continue to invest in us. What incentive do they have to invest in the US today?

Folks, Obama is not the problem...the problem is already here and he has had NOTHING to do with it up to now. Time to wake up and smell the coffee (grown in some foreign country, no doubt} Keep the faith.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

Oh well, killing the goose that laid the golden egg was going to come sooner or later.

They won't stop until we are all working for the same government at the same wage in their social utopia.

Cradle to grave care .... with all the efficiency of the IRS, the Post Office, FEMA, and Social Security.

As an added bonus, some Muslim Countries are reporting that 'the American infidels are rejecting their culture and electing a Muslim'.

Can you imagine the dancing in the streets of Syria, Iran and The West Bank if Obama is actually elected?

They sure as hell won't report that he is a "Christian" or a 20 year member of a (separatist)Afrocentric Church ...oh boy.

You've vowed to vote for John McCain. Will this save US jobs? John himself said in Michigan, "these jobs aren't coming back." He said that, Git. Here is why the Air Force and Boeing are not happy with JOHN MCCAIN: from the AP

" WASHINGTON - Angry Boeing supporters are vowing revenge against Republican presidential candidate John McCain over Chicago-based Boeing's loss of a $35 billion Air Force tanker contract to the parent company of European plane maker Airbus."

"But Boeing supporters in Congress are directing their wrath at McCain, the Arizona senator and nominee in waiting, for scuttling an earlier deal that would have let Boeing build the next generation of Air Force refueling tankers. Boeing now will miss out on a deal that it says would have supported 44,000 new and existing jobs at the company and suppliers in 40 states.

"I hope the voters of this state remember what John McCain has done to them and their jobs," said Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., whose state would have been home to the tanker program and gained about 9,000 jobs.

"Having made sure that Iraq gets new schools, roads, bridges and dams that we deny America, now we are making sure that France gets the jobs that Americans used to have," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill. "We are sending the jobs overseas, all because John McCain demanded it."

Git, I may one day pull up to a plane with Air Force markings and a French title to get refueled. And I'll have YOUR John McCain to thank (according to John McCain). Don't twist Obama's position Git. Try a fair debate, brother.

The rest of the story,

The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. and its U.S. partner, Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman, won a competition with Boeing Feb. 29 to build the refueling planes in one of the biggest Pentagon contracts in decades. The unexpected decision has sparked outrage from union halls to the halls of Congress over the impact on U.S. jobs, prestige and national security. EADS and Northrop say about 60 percent of their tanker will be built in the U.S.

McCain said he is keeping an open mind on the contract, but in the
past he has boasted about his role in blocking an earlier version of
the tanker deal that gave the contract to Boeing.

The deal was killed in 2004 after a former Boeing executive improperly recruited an Air Force official while she was still overseeing contracts involving prospective Boeing deals. The former Air Force official, Darleen Druyun, and a top Boeing executive both served time in prison, and the scandal led to the departure of Boeing's chief executive and several top Air Force officials.

McCain's role in the tanker deal did not bother Alabama politicians,
including Republican Gov. Bob Riley, who endorsed McCain three days
after the Air Force contract was announced. The EADS-Northrop tanker,
based on the Airbus A330, will be built in Mobile, Ala., where it will
produce 2,000 new jobs, and support 25,000 jobs at suppliers
nationwide.

Associated Press writers Libby Quaid and Sam Hananel contributed to
this story.

Raising taxes on businesses, cutting in to profits, raising input prices (wages, etc.) will all be good for the economy!

Why would businesses move to another country when they have a labor force here that they provide higher wages for, gets paid maternity (men included), pay higher taxes for, buy more health and safety insurance for and provide with a retirement package in addition to the social security ... all while having any profits cut, taxed, and spent on defending themselves against frivolous law suits?

OMG! Scratch that.... never mind.....

Go on about your business..... I never said this..... bye now.

Why is basmati still here as sniffles?

Submitted by IMNSHO on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 8:53pm.

Why? Because these blogs are not as well-monitored as Cal would like us to believe. They are monitored "periodically" according to Cal. Better monitoring would mean actively looking at each blogger who joins, and checking their IP address or other identifying information so that they could not have multiple personalities. Why have the rules if you're not going to back them up with actions? Selectively following them has made this place the mess that it is.

Submitted by skyspy on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 8:57pm.

But, sniffles/basamti was using blatant racial slurs a week or two ago, which is offensive to me even though I'm not black. The N word is offensive.

If he had used the racial slur typically used against Jewish people I would have called the Citizen not e-mailed.

I believe sniffles was providing a first person account of an event that happened to him in the past, using the exact words that were uttered from someone, and his account was very impactful - at least for me. I think if Cal thought it was a violation, sniffles would be gone by now.

As for someone being banned and coming back, maybe it depends on the violation. Putting someone's safety at risk, by providing an address/name, etc. of another blogger, actually seems dangerous, especially in this day and age. Much worse than a blogger providing an off-color analogy of someone else, like basmati did months ago.

Bestiality would be considered much more than "off color" by many, but not Peter Singer, Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University and abortion/infanticide/evolution proponent.

As far as the "first person account" posted by "Snif," he can always claim the Robert Byrd defense. (Libs would want us to forget about his accurate assessment that race relations are "much, much better" than any time in his lifetime, which is a long time.) For a party so steeped in political correctness via sensitivity training (i.e., re-education camps), you express "selective outrage" (one of Banned Basmati's favorite phrases) all too often.

Git's recent comment about the sperm on Monica's dress made me gag. Do you want to include that in your list also? And the recent dirty limericks that were disgusting. Include those also? Your fetus avatar is bloody and pulpy - shall we include that too? Or how about bpr/lilly's christiany antics... let's include that in your list also.

Good, better, best. Bad, worse, worst.

That would require a moral judgment, and that would offend many Dems and all too many GOPers, too. And we know how most will respond: "Judge not" (the only Bible verse they can quote but don't practice).

The "dirty limericks" -- You mean the ones that you wanted to add your own to? ("Can we all post some dirty limericks? I'm game. Who wants to start?") That was when you were sporting (pun intended) the copulating "fish" avatar to insult Christians.

You're offended by Git's biologically correct comment, which you judge to be "worse" than bestiality? Puzzled But you're not offended by sex ed that's taught with graphic terms (street language), complete with "eat your veggies" demonstrations?

"christiany" -- Copying Hack? Sniffy Bas prefers "christianist." Andrew Sullivan is at least more intellectual than Stephen Colbert.

The FETUS, not a zygote as you incorrectly called it in several of your posts, isn't "bloody and pulpy." He or she still has his/her blood still circulating within his/her living body. He or she wasn't aborted by vacuum extraction, which dismembers the baby's body until it is only "bloody and pulpy" pieces... a tiny hand, a tiny foot ... That's the REALITY of abortion. Sad

I also noticed that you have mistakenly referred to Denise's avatar as a zygote.

Knowing medicine and science really helps in the debate.

Add a dash (gallons, in this case Eye-wink ) of ethics, bake in the oven of thought, and you may become pro-life.

He or she still has his/her blood still circulating within his/her living body.

You are aware, I assume, that the mother's and child's blood never mix. In fact, they can have seperate blood types.

So much for the "part of the woman's body" argument.

This is the way to blog!
