You are right Griz, and her second show of wisdom was as bad as the first. When the Mayor asked for a comfirming vote of the new "Planning commitee" interviewed and selected by, Valerie, Mayor Lee, and the "Wizard of Odd", over many qualified people, New council person Furr and Caldwell baulked. It seems Furr objected to other people sending in competent, impressive resumes, full of talent, being ignored in favor of... "the winners"... one of which sent an email that Gloria got saying "you know who I am...need I say more?" No resume was ever sent. But they got the job, so did a female that has been on there and won't go away, who has said in front of council and committee...she is ...NOT.. walking the properties, she will rely on the developers. The new council members were out voted by the Mayor and the other 2 with the Mayor breaking the tie. The Mayor seemed to be very angry and raised up out of her chair an inch or two, making us all fearfull of what was to come next. However, she stated if we didn't like it....we could change it all ...next year...

I applied to serve on the commission and was interviewed by Buddy Haye, Valerie Fowler, and Lisa Richardson. There was no one else in the room.
Mayor Lee, Mr. Letournea, and Mr. Smola did not ask me one question regarding my 12 years of sewer desing and construction experience with Clayton County Water. If they interviewed me and decided someone else had better qualifications, I would accept their vote. However, they appointed three individuals that they know and showed no effort in selecting qualified individuals.
Keep in mind, one of the new appointees placed 4th in the previous election. This definitely goes against what the citizen’s wants!

You are right Mr Young, one of the appointed came in 4th, but one of the people doing the appointing, came in 3rd in the same race! It would seem that qualifications weren't the issue in choosing, maybe it was more like sour grapes for some doing the choosing, wanting someone ignorant and plyable may have been a deciding factor for another, who can say anything for sure...except...the most qualified were not chosen and again the taxpayers of Tyrone will suffer.

If you were at last week's council meeting then you saw as I did how disrespectful Paul Letourneau has become toward his fellow council members and citizens. Mr. Letourneau sat up on his perch and constantly rolled his eyes at our two new council members. If that isn't enough to vote him out of office I don't know what is. As far as how Mayor Lee voted, it shouldn't surprise anyone. She doesn't plan on doing what is right for this town. If she did as she said, sat in on the interviews for the potential planning commissioners, then she should have allowed Ms. Caldwell and Ms. Furr an opportunity to interview them as she has, I am sure they would have been as satisfied with her choice as she seemed to be. NOT!

Maybe Mr Letourneau's eye rolling wasn't meant to be disrespectful, maybe it was because he realized how astute these new council women are. Maybe he was just thinking about these smart women's reactions when they get into the Weiland contracts and notice how Tyrone passed a law you couldn't build a house on anything less than...ONE BUILDABLE ACRE....and then see that this same bunch then turned around afterwards and gave Weiland permission to put 2 houses on one acre by saying they were going to be duplexes! Since there is only one lot, that being an acre, everyone is dying to know which homeowner of these "duplexes" in question, own the lot.
