Ralph Nader For President

wulfman's picture

Well folks, Ralph has jumped into the race.

Will he spoil the race for the Democrats like he did in 2000 or will he be insignificant like 2004?

What say you?

Nader is nothing more than a sad little sideshow in 2008.

Nothing he can do or say will have a material impact on the upcoming Day of Reckoning for what's left of the Republican party.

The Republican party is in full meltdown mode.

The independents have deserted them in droves and the so-called "Reagan Democrats" are a distant memory.

The "security moms" the Repubs courted in 2004 finally figured out that endless war requires fresh meat: namely their kids.

The fiscal conservatives finally figured out unless you're a oil company or a defense contractor (i.e. a member of Bush or Cheney's social circle) you're out of luck.

The evangelical Christians finally figured out that after being courted like socialite debutantes they were used and discarded like a common streetwalking prostitutes.

Now all the Republicans have left are largely scared old men and their pathetic "armchair warrior" fantasies.

Who or what 'talking points sheet' did you plagarize all of that mindless crap off of? Puzzled

Whatever happened to that funny and witty Basmati we used to hate and laugh with. Now all we do is open your blogs and laugh at them.

Sheesh.... enough with DNC one liners. And you've got the nerve to attack your opposition calling them and the sources they quote as "hate groups"?

I've obviously struck a sensitive nerve with you, Git. Hate to tell you this, old buddy, but it's only going to get worse from here on out. Smiling

Perhaps you should simply ignore my posts, as they seem to upset your delicate sensibilities.

P.S. unless you acquired a tapeworm on your vacation down in Florida last week, using the royal "we" is a tad presumptuous, dontcha think?

Just because I care, I wanted you to know how baseless and screechy your slogans have become. If you're trying to draw votes over to Obama from those that sit the fence, I'm afraid your blathering and plagiaristic catchwords are a tad wore out and about as annoying and meaningful as hearing the song 'It's A Small World After All' played in an endless loop 24/7. But alas... If I can endure that song I easily handle reading your hogwash.

Instead of you focusing so much on pointing out the GOP's flaws why don't you start addressing how the left intends to cure the world's ills beyond your boy Obama's empty 'hope and change' jingles. Where's the meat dude?

I'll stand by my "we" statement. I'm sure there are enough folks on here that will 'second' my statement to give me the needed votes to overcome your "tad presumptuous" statement.

Oh.... and why would I want to ignore you posts? You're such an easy and hateful target to go after. It's like shooting ducks in a pond with their feet and wings tied down. When I tell myself to simply ignore you and to not lower myself to your level..... My Evil side pops out and I'm overpowered by the temptation to say... nah! Give it back to him and don't let him off the hook. Smiling

Have a great day Hate Boy!

Imagine our relief to learn that we're not actually hitting a sensitive nerve with our commentary! We are concerned about your delicate sensibilities!

Bleh, I can't do the royal "we" thing like you do. Eye-wink

I'm a bit surprised that an "independent" like you takes issue with my comments about Republicans. After all, didn't you desert the Republican party recently? Wasn't it just last month that you were telling us that not only did you not support George W. Bush and the Republicans, by Golly, you've NEVER supported George W. Bush and the Republicans! Perhaps I misunderheard you! Eye-wink

In a way, the Republicans current trouble can be traced directly to people like you. Unlike some of the fringe extremists in the Republican party (the beavers, conners and RetArmyMalkins of the world), you are actually able to present a voice of moderation from time to time. You semi-moderates had the ability to reign in the extremists. Yet you chose to stand idly by while they took over your "former" party and pushed it to the extremist limits. When the excesses got too much for even you, you cut and ran.

I imagine you rationalizing your behavior like Ronald Reagan, i.e. "I didn't leave my party, my party left me!" The only problem with that analogy is that Reagan backed his words with actions when he left the Democrats for the Republicans. We both know you'll never actually pull a lever marked "Democrat".

I noticed that once again you are whining for me to defend my chosen candidate, Barack Obama. Why should I? You want to see what Obama's positions are? Go look 'em up yourself! I'm more interested in watching (and commenting on) the incredible self-destruction of the Republican party. This is a defining moment of our lifetime, my friend!

Hey, I've got an idea! Since you're an "independent" now, why don't you urge the Republicans to set the example and raise the level of discourse around here by promoting their candidate, rather than continually demonizing the candidates they don't like? Maybe they'd listen to a "non-partisan independent" like you! Laughing out loud

I'm sure you're comforted by the fact that certain folks here will agree with you (against me). Have you noticed how few remain? Hmm? Like Fayette county as a whole, this time last year this place was solidly and reliably Republican. Now? Not nearly as much.

Git, don't take this personally, but I don't think you realize how much of a laughingstock you have become in this county. The defining moment came at a meeting of local Democrats not too long ago...they were assessing Democratic chances in this years election and someone remarked that they looked pretty good, "especially when people like (your name) are disavowing their own party". I stood their with a puzzled look on my face, until someone nudged me and said "(your name) is 'Git Real' on the Citizen blog". Laughing out loud (Don't worry, your secret identity is safe with me, Batman!). People aren't laughing with you, Git, they are laughing at you.

P.S. My sources say that one of the reasons the Fred is bringing in Kenny Rogers this year is so that he may dedicate his song "Coward of the County" to you! Laughing out loud

I'm a bit surprised that an "independent" like you takes issue with my comments about Republicans.

Silly man.... I don't have a problem with you going after the Republicans. As I've always said, my problem with you is the vile you spew toward Republicans and many of their erroneous ways while pretending like the clowns you support are any better.

After all, didn't you desert the Republican party recently?

Yup. So?

Wasn't it just last month that you were telling us that not only did you not support George W. Bush and the Republicans, by Golly, you've NEVER supported George W. Bush and the Republicans! Perhaps I misunderheard you!

Uh.... go back and do your homework and stop guessing at the answers. I can plainly see, as to the reason you struggle to this day with your studies.

There are some things I agree with in the Republican Party and there are many things I disagree with them on. I will support them where it counts and slam them where they're acting like you guys. If you guys are on the right track, I will support that issue with you. Why is it so difficult for you to understand that concept. Oh wait... I forget... There are those that blindly follow their emotions and their party line irregardless of the negative consequences it has on this country. And that can be said for both sides at this point in time. That should clarify things for you Basnazi... If the truth matters to you at all. Smiling

When the excesses got too much for even you, you cut and ran.

Yawn.... So abandoning a party that has chose to slither to the left while abandoning it's conservative principles make me a cut & run coward? Hmmm.... that's not how I viewed it. I'd rather sink on my own, while standing for what is right, rather than being a 'go-along and git-along' with the likes of you and someone like Westmoreland and Seabaugh. Call it what you want. I'll consider the source.

Your are correct on each of these points. However, I feel you left out one very important element. I truly believe that Ronald Reagan would agree with me in today's political environment. Same as I truly feel that a great Democrat leader like Harry Truman would abandon the Democrats under the same said conditions. I take no offense with what you just said.

You want to see what Obama's positions are? Go look 'em up yourself!

I did. They kind of go like this:

Obama I - I support providing illegal alien your the same benefits as legal children.

Obama II - I disagree!

Obama I - We need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws.

Obama II - I disagree!

Obama I - I think it's time for us end the embargo with Cuba.

Obama II - I disagree!

Obama I - I'm for a single-payer universal health care plan.

Obama II - I disagree!

Obama I - Abolish mandatory minimum sentences.

Obama II - I disagree!

Need I continue? Which other former Democrat candidates had the same 'waffling & flip-flopping" tendencies? Need I name them? And don't worry.... I would throw President Read My Lips in with the rest of the listed names. (An independent action in which Basmti is incapable of performing)

I'm more interested in watching (and commenting on) the incredible self-destruction of the Republican party.

A self proclaimed admission that you are neither an independent thinker, nor do you have a balanced or reasonable bone in you body. Shocked You remind me of a child who is allowed to eat anything he wants or is allowed to behave without adult supervision at all. In the end, the one you harm is yourself. I'm beginning to think that you are the one Dr. Denise needs to medicate. Eye-wink

Hey, I've got an idea! Since you're an "independent" now, why don't you urge the Republicans to set the example and raise the level of discourse around here by promoting their candidate, rather than continually demonizing the candidates they don't like? Maybe they'd listen to a "non-partisan independent" like you!

You mean you actually have a grasp on the concept of "raising the level of discourse around here"? Gasp! Then what has been your excuse for being the nastiest, most vile, and hateful poster on this board? Do you remember THIS GUY?

I'm sure you're comforted by the fact that certain folks here will agree with you (against me). Have you noticed how few remain? Hmm? Like Fayette county as a whole, this time last year this place was solidly and reliably Republican. Now? Not nearly as much.

Yup... not nearly as much. Due to influx of many of the Riverdale types that you have displayed a disgust for in the past on these very blogs. Again, I point out the fact that you could care less about your long term well being as long as you are satisfied for the moment. But, go ahead and gloat and continue to pretend that somehow the disgruntled current and former Republicans are going to ultimately pull the lever for the like of you in Fayette County. That's what I call wishing in one hand and ...... in the other to see which one fills up first.

Basmati, To be thought of a "laughingstock in this county" by the likes of you and your fringe elements pleases me immensely. That my friend is worthy of being wore as a badge of honor. Kind of like being targeted by Hamas as an enemy of Islamofacism..... I'd wear that title proudly too.

stood their with a puzzled look on my face, until someone nudged me and said "(your name) is 'Git Real' on the Citizen blog". (Don't worry, your secret identity is safe with me, Batman!).

Ahhh..... so..... What is my name today? Puzzled Why don't you just go ahead and expose my "secret identity"? Let 'er rip Ace!

People aren't laughing with you, Git, they are laughing at you.

OMG! I've got the two dozen Democrat Party Hacks, the likes of county GOP elite, and characters like Westmoreland and Seabaugh laughing at me. And the problem with that is?????????? Considering the sources, I'm very much Okay with that.

P.S. My sources say that one of the reasons the Fred is bringing in Kenny Rogers this year is so that he may dedicate his song "Coward of the County" to you!

That was rather lame. Surely you can do better than that.

I very much look forward to continuing this chat and building on our current relationship. Have a great day Basnazi Gollum! Smiling

Notice how our good ole Basmati the hate boy likes to throw it out, yet he never has the courage or the intestinal fortitude to continue the issue when someone stands up to him or challenges him on his innuendos, plagiarism, or unsubstantiated left wing talking points? I suppose one should have mercy when realizing that this guy lacks any semblance of original thought and relies heavily on keeping his nose pasted on the lefty's backside that is walking in front of him. Eye-wink

I suppose I shouldn't hold my breath in waiting for reply on this string of blogs as you shouldn't hold yours while waiting for him to reply to his Joe Bidenish efforts in not giving Jeff C credit for his material. Isn't Basmati Sniffles the one who is always slamming folks for regarding copyright infringements? LOL!

But what do you expect. I still chuckle when he stated that his son was a starter for the Whitewater basketball team last year. Then a couple of weeks later he's slamming McIntosh and bragging about his kid being in the their band.

And we thought Dollar was the one in need of meds? In spite of Dollar's ramblings, he often makes some valid points.

Signed, The Coward Of The County as named by Sneefles. Smiling

I'll back up your "we" statement. I mostly ignore but mostly laugh at the hate and vile he posts.

PS Basmati, If you really want Obama to win, stop openly supporting him. Your support will help him as much as his Che Guevera flag flying friends in Texas!

Put your Hillary pic back up.

BTW it figures that you had a tatoo then flip flopped and removed it.
