Fayette County Sheriff's Race

I've heard that the sheriff may not retire after all - any truth to that rumor? Ever wonder why a person can only serve as President of the United States for a limited number of years?? Something about "ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTING ABSOLUTELY"? Don't think I don't like our sheriff, but even Fidel Castro is stepping down. Maybe the department is asking him to stay because, unlike the Cuban government, I highly doubt our Sheriff's Department would continue with business as usual.

Let's hope he does stay.

I don't know why he was talking about retirement anyway. He is very visible in the community, and he seems to love his work. Everyone knows men his age don't have hobbies outside of work anyway.

This county needs him.

I'm guessing he was talking retirement because he's been sheriff for as long as most of us remember. We need new blood - someone who will clean out the corruption in the sheriff's department. Don't think I know what I'm talking about? Just wait - there's about to be a release about a certain drug task force agent who it seems to have gone to the same police academy as those guys in Atlanta who shot that elderly lady and planted drugs to cover it up. He seems to think he can sign search warrants himself and it seems to be done on a regular basis. Some of our "finest" - not saying all of them, but I know a few who think they are above the law and I will be at their trial to see justice for all of the people they've wronged. Haven't you noticed the presence of the NAACP lately? It's going to happen - the good old boys who think they answer to no one are about to find out how wrong they are!

What ever happened to a release about a certain drug task force agent you said would happen? Just curious.

Sorry no one listens to what the whiner crown at the naacp has to "offer".

You threatened the white people out of clayton county, but we are doing just fine here. We don't need to run from the naacp whiner crowd, no matter how much you try to threaten us.

Our Sheriffs Dept is doing a great job. That's why you, the nnaaac-whiner crowd and basmati hate the Sheriff's Dept. so much. Because they are doing a good job.

In fact a little too good, aren't they?!

Nothing succeeds like success. Sheriff Johnson has been very successful.

Boy, you used to be fun to read. Now you're just a warmed over race-baiter like beaver, blaming everything wrong in your life on black people.

And just because I don't lick Sheriff Johnson's shoes like you do, doesn't mean I "hate" law enforcement. I think there is plenty of room for improvement in the Sheriff's department, and if you took the blinders off of your eyes you'd see a lot of law enforcement pros on here saying the same thing.

Bottom line: Johnson is past his prime and needs to be put out to stud. That's my opinion and the fact that it doesn't agree with yours doesn't make mine any less valid.

I agree, I used to read and thought his ignorance was funny, but lately it's gotten to be so Archie Bunker-like that I decided to join the blogging community.

He is oblivious to the fact that he is not helping the sheriff or his departments with the hateful comments he uses. He's actually proving my point - if the sheriff and the rest of the department think and talk like he does - then it most definitely is time to clean house!!

I don't lick Sheriff Johnson's shoes, I have never met him. I just admire the work of our Sheriff's Dept.

Have a good crime free Fayette County night!

I don't see Sky as an over race-baiter, or blaming everything wrong on black people.

I see that Sky is concerned about someone running for President that she has some questions about as myself- well we have loads of answers - thanks for the research on him.

We all view things different and we can, it will always be that way in life- there is a polite way to do it, if you disagree just say I disagree and say why in a poliet way.

Just because we don't agree does not mean it's because of a person's color of skin- I value people more than that.

Love sees no color.

I hope our upcoming President will see that.

I am thankful I live in the "Land Of The Free". Best place to live.Smiling

I'm a white, college educated middle class citizen. I'm not trying to run you or anyone else anywhere. In case you weren't aware, the NAACP, does represent whites, just like they do blacks. In a class action law suit, the color of your skin is of no importance. The fact that white and black have been wrongfully imprisoned due to a group of arrogant drug task officers who think they are above the law and if they don't find drugs, rather than be embarrassed, some seem to think it's perfectly fine to lie and destroy people's lives. I think it's time to clean house in our drug task force and put the one who thinks he's a judge behind bars and send the one with the Napoleon syndrome and his cronies on their way. When these upstanding police officers can pistol whip a man who was not resisting arrest and when they are too big of cowards to admit when they've made a mistake and have wronged an innocent man, and can sit back and watch him be sentenced. I don't know how they can sleep at night.

There are some good men in the department, but they are overshadowed by the bad seeds.

You're right, they seem to be a little too good. Certain ones always seem to be there in a bust to smile for the camera. Too good is an accurate description.

When the ball gets rolling on this - and you see what the truth is - maybe you can be bigger than them and admit when you're wrong.

I'm anxious to know what this is all about. I think as Fayette citizens we have a right to know.

I'm curious, when did this pistol whipping take place in Fayette County?

I'm not sure of the exact date of the one I know of, but it's my guess that it happens more than we know.

Why the curiosity? You're not one of the county's finest who might take credit, are you?

Submitted by skyspy on Thu, 02/28/2008 - 8:09am.

Why do you keep making basless unsubstantiated allegations? You imply that something is wrong yet you have offered no evidence.

We don't seem to have the FBI crawling all over our local law enforcement like they do in ATL and detroit so....what gives?

You seem like a disgruntled person who wants to run for sheriff. If you throw out enough unfound rumors maybe you will get elected.

Submitted by justcurious on Sat, 03/01/2008 - 7:57pm.

As for you comment questioning as to why the FBI, etc. aren't crawling all over our local law enforcement? Trust me, investigations are going on as we speak and don't be shocked should you hear about class-action law suits.

Your choice of picture to include with your name is accurate - you sure do not seem to live in the real world.

Have a good night.

So far our guys haven't killed old women in their homes, so far our crime rate is low. Newpapers across the country have not been making comments about corruption, and the FBI having to step in......so ok...

I hope you are wrong of course because we live in a nice safe community, not like clayton, atlanta or detroit. Of course I hope it will stay that way until I can retire and move to the next "best place to live"

Have a good night.

Not all investigations are public knowledge, and most are done quietly.
Most don’t know or realize that the FBI works at the request of the Department Of Justice.
And as in many investigations, you don’t know they are going on till they want you to know.
That’s when they got you, right where they want yaw.

Sorry for the delay in answering.... just because I do not have the exact date - first of all, I would not want to make a false statement by naming the wrong date and secondly, why in the world would I give any indication as to my identity - I do not want to be framed!

I'm on the outside looking in.

From the outside looking in I like our Sheriff, and his deputies. I like the fact that they are tough on crime.

Most big city police depts. that have corruption Atl. Detroit, also have a lot of crime, because the crooks pay the cops a lot of serious jack to overlook the crime.

We really don't have much crime here, a pick pocket here and there, we have had a few armed robberies in the last 3-4 yrs. But basically this is a good place to live. If we had a problem with corruption, our rate of crime would be off the charts, just like it is in Atl, Chicago, Detroit....

Anyway I'm waiting to see what happens. In the mean time I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of our county.

Yep. There you have it folks. The empirical truth is delivered for all of us to view.
