It has been nice - Goodbye to all!

TruthSleuth1958's picture

Some of you have commented that the boards have become a bit 'harsh'. I agree that the blogs here have indeed taken a rude tone that is more personal than factual.

I have contributed to this discourse. For this reason, I have decided to move on to another blogging venue where actual, factual, issues are discussed more than just partisan attacks.

I wish all of you the best but strongly encourage you to stand up to, and call out, the 'bully' of your boards.

My humble opinion is that you basically have one blogger (other than myself who gave it back as hard and often as I received it) who no matter the topic turns dissent in to personal attacks and diminishes the quality and quantity of any true debate.

I enjoyed being a small part of your Citizen Blog and appreciate the many kind words and support.

Best of luck to all of you in the future. Always seek the Truth!

Surely not! Sad

You'll be missed, especially by me. Smiling It was nice having someone to point out Sniffy's personal attacks and to counter his posts. Now, I'll have to work harder. Laughing out loud

At least, stop in every once in a while. Veteran, thanks for your service.

As you sneak back into these blogs like you promised your whole family you would not. I've left. Jeff C has left. Army maj has left. Mixer has left. This is our powdered cocaine, and let's face it. We use it like supermodels. I'll be waiting for your return, and I WILL WELCOME YOU! Cheers my blogging brother!

ps: I think "Cocaine" is Clapton's greatest song!

Hack - it was so ironic, I was listening to Clapton's "Cocaine" on my iPod nano just as I read your post mentioning it - that was kinda weird, too.

I've always loved this song due to the heavy bass line - no wonder I ended up with a son who plays the bass! I agree with others about "Pretending." The 'Slow Hand' has so many hits, it's hard to narrow the list, although I'd have to put "Cocaine" at the top.

Cheers to you, and stay safe buzzing those skies!!!

Layla is, hands down, the high tide of rock music and, therefore, the best thing that Clapton ever did. Eye-wink The signature slide licks were all Duane Allman's idea--and execution.

The link is to a show in France in 2006. Derek Trucks is on slide.

Check out this little jam session with Derek, John Mayer and some other dude.

while naming Clapton's greatest song is HIGHLY subjective..."Pretending" off the "24 nights" album is the greatest rock song ever recorded. Keep the faith.

there is way too many songs by Clapton to even name a best one, it just depends on your mood. You can maybe get a top 5 or 10 but in no particular order.

I loaded my CDs on my computer the other day, and discovered I had more Clapton than anything else...by a good bit. I love to hear him play. *sigh* if only Stevie Ray were still with us. Keep the faith.
