One of the board members not called on to resign was Michelle Strong, who was cited in the report as voting to hire her husband as graduation coach. The NAACP stated that she acted "professionally." Yeah, right.

if it weren't for the group of folks (I will presume you are included) that have disdain for the NAACP, Al, and Jesse, we would actually never hear anything about them. Think about it for a minute. If this organization and these two men were the "leadership" of black America, would I not be constantly drawing strength from them and quoting their wise words? Perhaps these names are kept in the blogs to "spur the base," which otherwise lacks an internal inspiration. That's purely theory pulled straight out of my hind flank, but it sounds good when you read it .

I do not think 'they' represent the 'leadership' of black America (which I presume is located in 'America'). I just wish more hard working successful blacks that do not prescribe to the 'predisposed supposition' that they 'should be' democrats or politically liberal could be considered leadership.

Kevin, (if I may call you Kevin) you strike me as a genuinely good man who happens to also be politically 'liberal' or, perhaps I should say, at the least a moderate to liberal democrat.

You also seem to be a good role model and a success by any standard. I submit that YOU should be the leadership of 'black America'.

Can we also agree that a good guy (black, white or otherwise) who happens to be of a different political bent can also be a good role model for 'black America' and that they do not deserve to be called "sell out", "Uncle Tom" or a host of other derogatory terms if they happen to be 'black'?

If so, is the purpose of calling true American successes like Clarence Thomas 'self-loathing', 'uncle Tom' or 'sell-out' to excite and rouse the left wing?

And what a shame that we do not get to hold 'them' (Michael Steele, Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, et.al) up to be the measure of success we hope all of our children, black, white or other will someday attain.

My complaint is the that they recently held a "community meeting" about gangs but somehow failed to notify the "community".

there are "community meetings" all next week in the evenings at various schools throughout the county with representatives from law enforcement, the schools, etc. There should be a great deal of valuable info available to the citizenry concern gangs and such. Keep the faith.
