I've seen the Outlaws many times in the distant past in north Alabama. They were usually the opening band for someone like Charlie Daniels. I saw Kansas over 30 years ago too! No freakin' way am I paying that much to see these old dudes. That's just nuts!

Submitted by sageadvice on Mon, 02/18/2008 - 4:52am.

Then who will pay for the Tennis Center and the pros and the rec dept employees?

Submitted by Roadrunner on Sun, 02/17/2008 - 10:04pm.

Maybe its just the fact the we have 2 kids in college right now, and we already were weighing whether to renew our 4 tickets this year, and then we get the email saying series I prices were going up to $199 from $145 last year!! OK, prices eventually go up for almost everything but 40% in one year just doesn't make sense. The acts seem decent, but I'm afraid $800 twice per year probably isn't in the cards...

for all that plastic surgery Kenny's had.

Out of curiousity, I went over to the Outlaws official website to see how many original members are touring (answer:two of seven current members). Interestingly, they are touring all over the northeast with ticket prices ranging from $18-25 dollars each night. They are playing one nightclub for $45 and then they hit the jackpot playing two nights at the Fred at $55 per head.

The Question They Will NOT Answer:How Much Jail Time?

I have one question that isn't covered in the brief article: Where?

Is this at the "Fred", The Village? The article doesn't say. It also doesn't say where or how to purchase tickets or get more information.

sniffles5's picture
Submitted by sniffles5 on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 9:51am.

Had you been paying attention, Hoosier, you'd have learned that there was a huge rezoning battle this week, wherein Peachtree City sold two roads so that a local developer could build a series of "big boxes" near Planterra Ridge.

One of these "big boxes" will be a concert arena named the "Plunkettdome" after the spineless City Councilwoman who provided the necessary third vote to create this boondoggle in exchange for this facility being named after her.

Literally days after this announcement, bands are announced for this new venue. You'll note the fact that "the Outlaws" will be appearing, no doubt bringing in mullet-headed undesirables from Pike and Henry counties, and "Kenny Rogers", a favorite of the leisure suit wearing undesirables of Coweta county.

Our quality of life in Peachtree City is definitely changing....although not for the better!

... for reminding me why I don't visit this website much anymore.

I asked a simple, legitimate question and get sarcasm and invective in return.

I was interested in going to some of those concerts, but if people like you are in the audience, I think I'll take my entertainment dollars elsewhere.

The concert is at The Fred in PTC. Individual tickets will be $55.

Hope this helps!!

They are MUCH cheaper that way.

Well, if $55 is too much for you to get stomped on, have to stand to see, tolerate drunks, keep your ears stuffed with cotton, see 300 pound men and women pretend to dance in one square foot, and flying wine bottles, then you don't belong in PTC! Go to NASCAR.

I haven't been over to the Fred yet but I was wondering if it's possible to just hang out in the woods, close by, in my golf cart and catch some tunes that way? I don't need to be close enough to see the white's of the bands eyes, but I would like to hear some Poco tunes.

Is there a big, sound proof fence around the Fred?

If you dont want to see the bands, just hear the music .
I was fishing on lake peachtree out in a boat one year and I could hear the bands playing at the fred loud and clear.
The bass were much better company than I would have had by buying a ticket!

Submitted by Main Stream on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 1:43pm.

I may go check out a spot in the woods to spread out the camping blanket and bring a cooler for the family. I'm past the age of concert-going, unless it is a small, controlled venue. It doesn't sound like the Fred is controlled, really.

I took my daughter to The Fox recently to see Sheryl Crow and it was fantastic. No crazies, bottle-throwing, pot-smoking, or lunatics at all.

On warm summer nights I have listened to many concerts from the golf cart path behind the stage. It's wonderful. Once I was even given two free tickets to the Pointer Sisters by passerbys.

The paths are free!! Pull up, park, and enjoy.

Submitted by sageadvice on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 2:47pm.

You will be picked up!
Drinking or trespassing outside the theater is illegal.
How are they to make money that way?

Submitted by slider on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 7:34pm.

behind The Fred you should be able to hear very well. Now, I would not advise drinking on the edge of the cart path as this may get you arrested, but I cant imagine anyone giving you trouble for pulling over to the edge of the path and listening from your cart or even spreading out a blanket next to the path.
Since you mentioned the family, and not liking the concert thing I'm going to guess you are not planning to be doing shots and yelling "Freebird" on the cart path , nor sneeking through the woods and camping out behind the stage.
Enjoy! You can hear the music from quiet a distance so there are lots of options.

Main Stream's picture
Submitted by Main Stream on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 8:57pm.

Nope, no shots. And just a cooler of soda's for the kiddies. We may have to give this a try, at least for the Poco concert.

I'm not aware of any way to enjoy it at all besides being inside.
I suppose you could hear some sounds outside, but see nothing!

It is not for free entertainment, or even token charges.
Even so, taxes have to support the town expenses there and at the Tennis Center to exist.
We must create jobs with taxes since there are few factories to work in!

Spending the weekend in Asheville.

I plan to become an incense-burning, nature-worshiping neo-pagan while there. I've come to think that some variety of pantheism is likely true. I am one with the One and all that. I'll find a spiritual advisor (in dreadlocks) downtown.

Maybe it was the thought of the "incense-burning, nature-worshipping neo-pagan" thingy.... Just booked 4 nights in Asheville through VRBO.com (100 yr. old farmhouse on 100+ acres, hot tub, 15 minutes to Asheville).

I'll be looking for that dreadlocked spirtitual advisor.

I'm sitting in the Well-Bred Bakery in Weaverville. Nice spot for great coffee, deli, or just a spot to sit and read, write or browse the internet.

Nice little town just north of Asheville. Blue Mountain Pizza--across the street--is also a great spot for pizza, beer and, on weekends, live music.

We're supposed to mhead back today, but it looks like some violent weather between here and there.

Submitted by wildcat on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 11:54pm.

If you drive up through Clayton/Franklin there is a nice antique shop in Franklin (Whistle Stop?) and Dillsboro has a nice little downtown area too (just north of Franklin). If you p/u the BR Parkway there is a stop that has a nice little hiking trail (less than a mile) that is very scenic and well worth the stop. I can't remember the name of it but it has something to do with pirates/ghosts/cemetaries??? I can't remember. It's marked and when you read the name of the place it will make sense. You're lucky!! Have fun!

I really like Asheville, but I adore Hot Springs (northeast of Asheville). I would live there if I could afford it. We discovered it while hiking the AT, but have gone back for rafting. The Bridge Street Inn, the tubs, the AT and Huck Finn rafting...lots of fun. I think we've eaten at every restaurant in town. It's all good!

Well, original members include Jim Messina, Timothy B Schmitt, Richie Furay among others so don't think we'll see those here even though Furay still plays shows with 'em on occasion. That'd be great if he's touring with them this year....he always was the heart of the band. I know Rusty Young who was an original member still tours with them. Regardless, should be a good show if you like their music.

Why is it okay for you to have a multiple name and not me?

My reason just to prove my point have not spoken to me since then.

* I wanted to see how many people would attack Christians- they say we are hypocrites if we are Christians- wow- I proved it.Smiling

* I don't care how many people respond to this since all of sudden they think you are the greatest person on earth- not me, I sill care and will like you- So, call me hypocrite.

* I think this is a God thing- if you don't like it, I don't care- our pastor in our service last Sunday stated that "Do people call you hypocrite if you go to church and say your a Christian? I love this part, he said recently I was told that why should I go to church, everyone there is a hypocrite- his answer- you are right, I am one also, everyone is so why don't you come down and join us and make a change- then told us about grace-forgiveness for all hypocrites.

*Yes Muddle BPR is a hypocrite and so is everyone else.

* I did prove my point with most of those lashes from your new friend and your faithful friends.
* I saw the Ben Stein- is your class like this- how did you respond- if you was positive about the video- is it fun to make fun of a Christian? Now, I know here we go- Ben Stein is not a Christian.

*If up think $ is the only one on here with multiple you are deceived, I could name you numerous people- which I don't want to argue and fight, and you know that they are also- but of course you won't admit it, you might not have their friendship, the defense for the other person proves it when they respond the wording, the way it is written. Or can you figure that out- I have known it for a long time. One of them has become your best friend.

*My explanation is who thinks they are holier than thou- Christians, non Christians, some Christians.

*My answer by what I received in both post was non Christians and some Christians.

*Why was it okay for you to do - be Seeker, and for me to do my little experiment?

I know I will get remarks live Muddle alone- he has his wife problem.
Well, I have a load of problems, I just don't post them.

*BTW I am not a Christian that thinks I am holier than thou

*I am sick of that cop out from people- and oh boy did I get it if I spoke about God. Not you, I guess they think you are alot smarter than me.

*Honestly, I thought high of you, but after this I have to say disappointed, I saw a part of you I didn't think was there. Oh, yeah, say I saw a part of you that was not there. That will be fine.

*Yes, I will continue to pray for your wife, I know what it is like to have struggles- so was it okay for Main to make fun of Tourettes syndrome?

I have a friend who's son has Tourettes Syndrome- it's not a joke- she is in tears daily- at the moment the medication is helping, thank God.

* The answer is no- will you admit that?

* Plus how would you like for someone to make fun of your struggles- of course you will say no but side with someone that says that.

*I am sad, you have to agree- you were a little not nice to me. Yeah, that hurt- because you of all people I did not think would do that to me.

* You live and learn.

* Wulfman has alot in common with you- does not like CCM- CCM praise, a small church etc.- you could try his church.Eye-wink

* Since my little experiment, which has proved alot about the people who post on here, I have learned alot.

* Of course I will expect the hate you BPR bit, I don' care- I'm a hypocrite, but a forgiven one.

*The other hypocrites will not own up to it.

* I poured my heart out to God to God about your wife- I am not saying this to get a pat on the back, I am a hypocrite- by my God- I can never be more thankful for grace and forgiveness.

* I do not understand the avatar- oh it's a joke- ha ha- it is intended to me. So thank you.

* If I see your wife needs prayer I will pray- My God hears me. I won't respond, it seems it did not mean a thing to you. Well, Muddle are you happy- hurting me?

Explain this to your friend enodnnaenaj1- they asked you- they think I am stupid to answer that one- Inform them there are others. They have lost their marbles if they think not.

To all that read and want to throw stone- your welcome to do so.Smiling
But, also remember my experiment was we are all hypocrites.

BTW- just like your not seeker anymore but just Muddle, well Lilly is not Lilly anymore just BPR.

Being an old wulfman, I really don’t have many friends; they tend to disappear around full moon time.

So it’s nice to have someone (even it) to converse with even though (it) is sometimes a little hard to understand.

Let me explain her position again:

Don’t you know that everyone here is a liar except BPR/ Lilly?
When she lies it doesn’t mean it’s a lie because it was an experiment not a lie just to see if you would lie because she doesn’t lie and she knew everyone else would lie but not her she doesn’t lie it’s an experiment to see if everybody else lies and are not Christians and there’s the proof.

Now do you understand? It’s as plain as the nose on your face.

I think?

muddle's picture
Submitted by muddle on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 8:15am.

Don't sweat it.

I do appreciate your prayers and concern for Mrs. Muddle.

I have some comments here and then would like to put the whole thing behind us.

I disagree with you on the outcome of your "experiment." If people showed hostility to "Lilly," I do not think it was because she was presented as believing in God. I've made it more than clear that I'm a card-carrying Christian, but I've never felt that people here maligned me for that. Rather, everyone--myself included--perceived Lilly as being obnoxious about it. I honestly thought that the character must have been created by someone who wanted to foist a bad stereotype of Christians on the community. Many are already tempted to think that religious belief is a function of some sort of psychosis and that churches are where people incapable of thinking for themselves gather. "Lilly" helped to promote such ideas.

The New Testament makes it clear that the message of Christianity is a skandalos (stumbling stone) and an offense. But it does not follow that the messenger should be offense in delivering the message. Matters got even worse when Lilly cried "persecution" when people took offense at her offensiveness.

Consider this:

1 Peter 3:15-16 ((NIV):

15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

I expected this from you- I showed my husband he did also. I had showed my husband some things you had written and he had you figured out already. I won't go into that, my time is not worth it.

Don't quote scripture to me when you act like church is a bad thing, all you do is knock it- I know the true muddle.

You don't care if I care for Mrs. Muddle- you have showed me by this post.

Don't preach to me when you don't even go to church or care about church except to knock us down- I'm use to people like you- our pastor gave the example.

I've probably missed quite a few comments since I've had the flu, as well as my family, and a sick kitty to care for. So, I'll say that I might not have the whole story, but I'm going to comment any way.

Whether you respect Muddle or not in no way invalidates the Scripture that he quoted. You should re-read it. You might want to recall King David's response when Shimei cursed David and pelted him with stones (II Samuel 16). (David let Shimei speak because he saw the hand of God in every circumstance.) God even used a donkey once (not that Muddle is one) to deliver a message.

Also, your praying for Mrs. M and Muddle's church attendance are irrelevant to the discussion about your behavior. Your praying for or against someone does not give you a blank check to make any comment that you want and not be challenged for it. If you don't want to be challenged, then don't post because many on here can be very unkind. You may disagree with Muddle's assessment of you, but you might want to consider what God thinks about your behavior (something we all should do). Why not let your husband and pastor make their own comments?

BPR, you seem like a pleasant person, but maybe you should think about how your words sound to others before you post. My intent is not to offend you but to help. Also, if you're looking for some new friends, this is not the best venue, or any online site, in my opinion. Interact with "real" people, people with whom you have something in common. Smiling

You think she is real, don't you?
Oh well, if she is that is about the nicest way I have ever heard someone tell another to beat it!
Stoning and donkeys aside!
I assume you like to be challenged since you are still here?
Also, telling her to let her husband speak, and her pastor, is something you may want to consider. I don't think I ever was challenged by my wife on those things. Poor old pastor, he don't know nothing either.
By the way Denise, your words don't always sound nice either!
I know you have nothing in common with bpr or me or most anyone, but we aren't common, as you are.
I would guess the cat made you all sick! Get a dog. Or is she one?

Just as "real" as you are! Kinda scary, isn't it! Laughing out loud

BPR has shown up at one of the coffee meetings. That's all that I "really" know about her.

"I assume you like to be challenged since you are still here?" -- Interpret, please. The flu's interfering with my Dollar-speak. Laughing out loud

"By the way Denise, your words don't always sound nice either!" -- The question is, are they true?

You're spelling my name correctly again. Maybe changing to $age helped. Laughing out loud

Cats are a lot less work than dogs, but dogs are easier to find a home for. What our kitty has isn't the flu; it affects cats only, not people. Would you like a free kitty? Watching her chase her toys might make even you smile and caring for her when she's sick helps to develop kindness and empathy. And she doesn't BITE (not "bight"). Smiling

"I know you have nothing in common with bpr or me or most anyone, but we aren't common, as you are." -- Now, how do you know that? You don't like Michael Jackson and I agreed. BPR likes cats, and I have to since being "adopted" by 2 kitties. You're perpetually grumpy and I try to help you. I have a soft spot in my heart for strays. Laughing out loud

Maybe I should stick to cats (not the human ones either); they're a lot less complicated. Smiling

I really think she's in need of serious assistance.

I consider you to be one of the least offensive of us 'regulars' so she might listen to you.

I posted several comments to her earlier today. Maybe she's still grieving the loss of her mother and sister, and then her son's growing up. Who knows what's on someone's mind. She probably has a lot of good qualities, but sometimes a few bad qualities can overshadow the good ones. It's so hard to see yourself as others see you. If you're talking face to face, you can read someone's facial expressions and body language to see when you've offended him, but online some say things that they wouldn't in person. A few people know who I am; so that helps to keep me in line. Smiling

Okay, to make it right with God, I am sorry for the offensive- with everyone- Main etc.

I will not say I was wrong in proving my point of "holier than thou" it went on all day.

BTW I have been offended alot today with mean remarks and being made fun of-so - where are my I am sorry?????

I have peace with God, I don't need your approval.

Hope you had a good laugh - and was happy you made me cry- such kind people.

I did get to see how alot of people really are today.

BTW- it's not for Dr. Denise as you call her, it's for my God.

I expect insults, I don't care- God is what matters.

I know I proved my point- you know it also, just won't admit it.

Who is holier than thou- nobody! God is the holy one. When someone talks about Christ, stop saying oh, your holier than thou. Okay?

If you still want to say and throw stones, go ahead, I'm at peace with God and that is what matters.

I can’t follow my own advice and I'm in an exceptionally good mood.

BPR, I strongly suggest you need to get a life away from here.

Other then harping that everything you do is in His name, you need a life.

This blog is NOT for the weak minded, such as yourself. There are many here, myself included, that think your devotion to some God figure is a cry for help.

You need to be able to think for yourself rather then blame some God figure for your endless shortcomings.

God has no time for the lame and lazy, that would be a reference to you, he’s rather busy.

For some unknown reason you can't seem to grasp that we, I, consider you and your 'kitty' aviator to be a joke.

That you have to defer all your actions and reactions as being in His name only solidifies the thought that you're in left field heading for the fence. (If not already in the parking lot heading for the freeway.)

You’re incapable of posting/replying to anyone without inferring that you speak for God.

NEWS FLASH, God doesn't need you to speak for him. If He has something to say to me/us I’m quit confident he’ll get in touch.

Please take your weak-minded, I can say anything I want because I tell everyone I’m a Christian, and go the hell away.

Not only do we not need you, we don’t want you.

If, somewhere in the future, I get struck with an overwhelming desire to believe in a supreme being, I'll call muddle and ask him what my options are.

BPR, you’re sick and need help!

The first step towards healing is admitting that you have a problem. How about you let us admit that for you?

Fortunately for me, I don’t have to put up with your whiny crap.

If you’re indeed married beg your husband to excise your demons; if not, get a dog.

Please take you pitiful cat avatar and go bother others somewhere else. You’re NOT welcome here any longer.

I swear I’ll start being a better more compassionate person tomorrow.

God I feel better now.

Did you read anything that I posted to you? Smiling

If you "expect insults," then why did you elicit them?

If you "don't care," then why did you cry? And why tell us about it? That's a form of manipulation (not a healthy response). Have you ever considered that your comments could have made someone cry or hurt someone else's feelings?

Why do you say, "I don't need your approval," and then act like you do?

Why is it so important to you to "prove your point" when you "proved" exactly what you had already determined would be the results?

If you want to have a private talk, I could email you but you have to activate that option. You said that you want to be friends; so think about Proverbs 27:6. Smiling

you can e-mail someone by obtaining their e-mail address!
if you will put yours on this blog for her, she might answer you but I doubt it because her address would be on the e-mail she sent to you! And like you she probably doesn't want to give her address to anyone either.

What is it that you want to say that is so secret that we can't read it?

I don't think you will ever see muddle or denise at the coffee, and if you did they wouldn't give you their e-mail!

How can I e-mail you? I'm not about to give you MY e-mail address.

As I said, your one of the more understanding/least offensive of us 'regulars'.

I would rather be openly debated then prayed for.

People praying for me is a rather creepy thought. I have my own personal version if what I think God is. I keep it to myself and wish others would do the same.

I think there are many, no more, people who don't care for "church," but realize that there was and is something greater.

Church was never meant to be a "building" anyway, church is a group of people who think alike, but don't mind others with some different thoughts.

Brain-washing is preached in too many "churches."

Some use them as social buildings! Even political houses!

You are responsible for your actions, not for your "church."

BPR's picture
Submitted by BPR on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 10:19am.

We are the church. Where we go to worship God is just a building- if you are a Christian, Christ lives inside of you- we are the church.
