Tyrone is not Mayberry anymore

For the past several years Tyrone has been referred to as Mayberry complete with Aunt Bee as Mayor, Barney as Manager, and Thelma Lou as his assistant. Well Tyrone is no longer Mayberry. The latest election has brought the winds of change (or the carpetbaggers) to transform Tyrone from a small friendly place to “the Land of Oz” complete with all its characters. On council you have: Gloria “Toto” Furr (makes a lot of noise but does what she is told); Grace “the wicked witch of the west” Caldwell (always wanting to wear the Mayors ruby red slippers); Don “the if I had a brain scarecrow” Rehwaldt (enough said); Eric “the cowardly lion” Dial (can not take a stand for anything); (all due respect to Tracy Young, really did not want to leave you out but since you represent those living in unincorporated Fayette County (yes we know where your relatives live) there wasn’t an Oz character for you). They show up at council meetings with their winkies (a.k.a. tyrone neighborhood alliance) in tow chanting “you are great”. When problems arise Grace summons Judy J. “Nikko, King of the flying animals” (check the movie out for a more accurate description of the animals) to attack those that have incurred her wrath. Lastly of course we have Bill “the Mighty Oz” McNally who is always behind the curtain pulling the strings. One would have to wonder how long before a yellow brick road is added to Shamrock Park?

You must have forgotten the ending to Oz...the good guys win and they learn they had what they were seeking all along. The wicked witch just faded away...

And we all know who the real wicked witch is. Ms. Furr would be more suited to the character of Dorothy, seeking the truth in the midst of evil.

Was everyone listening when the tire issue came up? A vote on a house bill? The mayor in his esteemed wisdom (lol) read a statement about a disease that has occured in this country MAYBE twice. Me thinks the Mayor had his own agenda and it was shot down by all. The real issue was the appearance of the tires outside. This needs to be addressed. No one wants to look at that blight on from the road? The code inspector works two days a week. If you are going to do something you need to have someone full-time.

Why did Grace ask if in the ordinance it remained "a weak mayor" system? You gotta wonder what is going on in the minds of the wicked witch and toto. (TJAM- that was funny Pituring Judy J as a flying monkey- hysterical.)

After taking such a humiliating beating at the poles, you are still publicly making a fool out of yourself.

You still have issues with women. It is a control issue, or lack of. Anyway, I hope, "Mr flying monkey, Mr Toto, or Mr Wicked Witch" beats the cr@@@p out of you. That is what you need, some man to call your hand at insulting their wives. I think you are jealous, as these women are respectable!

No matter how much mud you sling, the voters said 10 to 1, they wanted them instead of you! Now, you are calling more attention to the lack luster job of your wife. I keep hearing the phrase, "one down and one to go." Keep it up.

Our resident carpetbagger. The incessant spewing of hatred and contempt can only lead one to concur these feelings were there all along. Thanks to your outburst, you prove us correct in our vote. Mike S., we are lucky to be relieved of your decision making. Now, if we can just be relieved of your presence among us. Don't you have any self respect?
