The Starr’s Mill Panthers played the Creekside Seminoles close for almost the entire first half of their game this evening, but Creekside went on a tear in the third quarter, scoring 11 points in one minute during one outburst, and won the game easily, 69-47. “We knew a slower pace of game would help us,” said Coach Brandon Hutchins, whose young team led 10-9 at the end of the first quarter. “We also knew that if Kevin Murphy (Creekside’s leading scorer) got hot, we’d be in trouble.” Murphy finished with a game high 27 points. Starr’s Mill got 11 points from both Justin Smith and Mark Conard, while Andrew Davis chipped in eight. login to post comments |
