A year after earning membership in the Successful Practices Network, Whitewater High has been selected as a Model School and will make a presentation at the Model School Conference this summer.

The Successful Practices Network is sponsored by the International Center for Leadership in Education, a non-profit collaboration of good schools that are striving to become great schools. The conference is the International Center’s signature event, bringing together educators from across the United States to learn about the strategies and techniques used by model schools.

Schools selected as model schools are highly successful at providing every student with a rigorous and relevant education. They are also excellent models of building relationships, supporting change, meeting AYP requirements, engaging students in learning, making data-based decisions, providing differentiated instruction, fostering personal skill development, ensuring academic success for students with disabilities and English language learners and offering interdisciplinary approaches to learning.

Whitewater High will also be featured in the 2008-2009 Model School Study Tour program. Educators from across the country will visit the school throughout the year to observe teachers and students in action, as well as meet with school administrators and faculty to learn about the characteristics that contribute to Whitewater’s success.

This is not an honor that WHS earned!! It is an organization that WHS paid fees to for a certain administrator's online doctoral work! They didn't chose WHS. Check out the website!
